Wow! This was very clever and fun. This is two separate stories-one told in words and one told in pictures that eventually intertwine. I was very impressed.

Excellent resource for the studies of positive psychology and mind, body, spirit connections.

This is a nice "Chicken Soup" good feeling type book, which suited because I read it while getting through a heavy headcold. I like Thomas Kinkade's Cape Light series, sometimes I think as much for the Kinkade paintings on the dust covers as the books themselves.

So ironic and funny
The Thin Man isn't Hammett's best novel - that would be The Glass Key. Nor is it his most famous novel - that would be The Maltese Falcon. But it's still my favorite Hammett novel. I love the relationship between Nick and Nora. I love the fact that the most important stuff in the novel is never directly addressed - stuff like why Nick drinks so much, or why he constantly claims not to be interested in the case in question when clearly he'd rather be dealing with that than his actual obligations (administering his wife's financial holdings). It's my opinion that much of what makes this novel wonderful gets overshadowed by the comedy or the mystery...and I suspect that's exactly what Hammett intended.

I loved this book! So far, it is my favorite read from my Gender in Literature course. It is a great way to become familiar with Audre Lorde. Also, keep in mind it is a biomythography, so it isn't meant to be an autobio by any means. If you read it and treat it as being a sort of bio, you will be disappointed.

I first read some of this in 2006 before graduation. Roberto Calasso knows Kafka.
I was excited to get this ARC from netgalley as the description sounded like a number of my favorite tropes rolled into a fun, ultra-sexy story: Candace's friends book her on a singles cruise without telling her that it's an ultra hedonistic cruise. Ryan is 1/2 owner of said cruise ship, who has been bored of the floating pleasure boat for quite some time, and he spots Candace, realizes that she's different, but decides to pose as a fellow passenger because he wants to get to know her without her knowing that he's loaded. If you love stories like this from the Harlequin Blaze line but wouldn't mind if the heat got cranked all the way to *truly* blazing, this is the story for you. Lee has a super fun voice reminiscent of Christina Skye, Vicki Lewis Thompson, and Katie McCallister, and she put a lot of humor into this tale. At 174 pages, it's a quick read, perfect for a single evening of light and sexy reading. Because the book takes place on a hedonistic cruise, every scene revolves around sex--and this is often cute, but I wouldn't mind a *bit* more variety--even in super sexy story like this, I like a little substance to the plot. However, this setting just didn't lend itself to that, and that's okay--Lee has a great voice and makes it work. I'm planning to search out her backlist and see what other settings and plots she has. Note: This is an ultra-sexy story intended for mature audiences--if this is not your cup of tea, you might want to look elsewhere or try one of the authors I mention above.

I have read this James piece at least twice. Overall, it is a good introduction to James.

I love Emily Griffin's writing, really good book. If you're looking for a carbon copy of the movie, don't, the book is far better. It is a book that brings up mixed emotions and can truly get me passionate. Ms. Griffin makes you think and makes you question yourself and how you believe. I have one criticism and that is that I feel the book does not address to the fullest certain emotions and downplays them in a way that seems almost as if she just didn't want to address them and hoped by writing it off as they just didn't feel them, we would buy the argument. I don't buy the argument.
