For some reason I didn't get into it until the very end, but I did enjoy it a lot. Still applicable to the modern press. I'm reading Chomsky on media manipulation next. Oh boy, will I have some opinions on the media by the end of this.

As a journalist, I can't help but admire Bradbury's passion for education, literature and—above all else— freedom of speech. Fahrenheit 451 is a glimpse into his idea of a censored world, and although he personally doesn't believe America will come to this (he says in the author's interview at the end), it's a frightening, albeit unrealistic, concept.

Oh Malkom Slaine, how you did melt my heart. Cole nailed it in this installation of the IAD series. I am always in awe of how she can depict a setting and in this one, Oblivion was so vividly desolate and hot. I loved the barrier between the two characters and even though some of her plot devices were not necessarily original, she still rocked them. I really loved this book!

Strange Highways was my first experience reading Dean Koontz. I found that I enjoyed his writing style. Strange Highways is a collection that consists of fourteen short stories. Some of the stories are definitely better than others. I began reading Strange Highways by reading the shortest of the stories in the collection first, and then working my way up to the longer stories. When you begin, don’t let the shortness of the story Kittens fool you, though. I was shocked and disturbed by that very short story. I did utterly enjoy The Night of the Storm, which is a futuristic tale about a world ruled by robots. The story had a bit of an Isaac Asimov feel to it. There are others gems in the collection, as well, such as Snatcher and Trapped. Down in the Darkness was just plain creepy, but a good read. Koontz included two novels within this collection of short stories: Chase and, of course, Strange Highways. I could have done without Chase. I didn’t like Strange Highways, either, at first, but the religious motivation that Koontz created for the villain in the story was somewhat interesting. Some of the stories in this collection you will like, some of them you will think are just gross, and some you straight-up will not like. However, I do recommend Strange Highways for an overall enjoyable read. Enjoy!

A great read, very entertaining and hard to put down. I'm happy to know there are at least a couple more in the series!
All of Donna Hay's books are amazing. Check out her magazine as well. Very easy to read and beautiful photos.

Wow this was so interesting. I am amazed and horrified that genocide has happened over and over again on our earth. This was a close up look of one family's experience with the Cambodian genocide under Pol Pot in the 1970's. This family's endurance is incredible in the face of slavery and death - especially in a land where a quarter of the nation was exterminated. I am so very grateful to live in a wonderful free land!

Decent bio. As a prose stylist he's just okay and he goes a little too far sometimes in suggesting links between certain things in Lennon's life. Solid over all, though.
