Even though im not done reading this book, it is really good. I read the last book among the hidden and it was probably even better than this book, but im not done reading it so we will find out. what i really like about this book is that the imagery is outstanding! I dont think ive read a book with better imagery! it makes mee feel like im right beside her in the book and she is talking to me, telling me the story. what could have been better about the book is that they dont jump around as much and if they do, give details and describe how they got there dont just let them show up some where silly nilly. that is probably the only concern i have with this book. If you like a book of series and a book of mystery, than i strongly recommend this book to you. I guarentee you will love it! After reading this book i thought it tied equally with among the hidden. what she did improve on was the jumping around that i mentioned in the paragraphes above. i was very proud of the author for fixing that in the book. other than that it was really good. i will definatly read teh rest of the series in no time at all.

There's really a supernatural element in this romance, but the participants don't quite realize it. Independent Debra buys a gag gift, Fiance in a Box, to eliminate the pressure after one more blind date. She uses the material in the box to create "Lawyer Logan," an ideal man. Just when her parents are lobbying for an introduction, Logan appears, acting as though all the things she's made up about their relationship are true. Debra is sure he's a con man or something, but gradually admits to herself that he is perfect for her. Just as she's ready to admit her love to him, he forgets who she is--and so does her family. Debra is the only one who remembers their relationship, and he accuses her of stalking him. Now Debra has to win Logan over.
I'm just really intrigued by this time period and these books are a breath of fresh air. They are exciting, filled with action, drama, and of course, Gregory takes some liberty with history, but I don't care! They still make for great reads.

For me, this book revealed the simple truth that the only way to know and appreciate the power and and meaning of any particular song has to involve hearing the song itself. It was a heartfelt book, and I really enjoyed it... but I felt like I was missing half of the story since I didn't know a lot of the songs on each mix tape that headed up each chapter. The author essentially tells his story through the connective tissue of music, from his early (relatable) years as an awkward kid at camp through his young adulthood when he meets and falls in love with his wife. They were only married for five years; he lost her unexpectedly at the age of thirty one to an embolism. It was a lovely read despite the missing link of intimately knowing the songs that narrated this sad story. My favorite quote: "When we die, we will turn into songs, and we will hear each other and remember each other."

This gave me a trip down memory lane for I, too, spent summers at the shore growing up. Fun to see the take from a boy's point of view.

it's a beautiful story, about the small beauty, and sadness, of peoples lives. It's also nice to have such a strong female character.

I found the book interesting and, at times, disturbing. But it was also silly and unbelievable. I do believe that harvesting and growing the HeLa cells without the understanding or consent of Henrietta or her family was unconscionable, but allowing that to determine who you are and what you become and letting it affect your entire life seems a bit absurd. Henrietta's offspring came across as caricatures, obsessed with something that they had no control of and did not understand at all. The scientific importance of the HeLa cells was fascinating and interesting to learn about.
