A Lucky Child Written By: Thomas Buergenthal Forward By: Elie Wiesel Published By: Little, Brown and Company an Imprint of Hachette Book Group, 2009, First Edition, 256 pages, hardcover ISBN 978-0316043403 The Lucky Child is a poignant memoir, allowing the reader to envision and feel all of the emotions and terror that Thomas (as a young boy) must have felt, while at the same time, maintaining a more detached approach (less gruesome) then many of the Holocaust books I have previously read. I was instantly drawn into this story and pulled into the absorbing narrative; this story is absolutely riveting! This smoothly flowing story has perfect momentum and keeps the reader’s interest from beginning to end. Thomas’ invaluable story really brought the Holocaust ‘home’, to me. As the reader visualizes what life was like for this young boy (and many others like him) during those horrendous times, it makes his experiences even... *Please follow the link to read the whole review: http://bookreviewsbybobbie.wordpress....

John von Neumann is one of the most incredible people of the 20th century (much more important, and arguably intelligent than the popular Einstein IMHO). This book covers game theory and how it relates to his life.

James Robinson's Starman? Mike Mignola's Hellboy? And Batman for some reason? Be still my geekish heart! Well actually, there's a pretty standard plot here which seems to have laid aside the quirks of it's component characters in an attempt to shoehorn them together. Despite the input of both Mignola and Robinson, you won't find any of the fascinating folklore or wit Hellboy fans normally enjoy, nor Starman's usual thoughts on kitsch, beauty or responsibility. Mignola's depiction of Batman is interesting for a moment or so, but this book really only got it's third star for the enjoyable speculation I indulged in while searching for a copy.

This was SOOOOO much better than The Lake House and When the Wind Blows!! The characters were nicely developed and the story is really good. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
loved it the first time i read it, rereading it again!
This was the first Coupland novel I ever read. It's amazing in so many great ways, all the better if you have take CS 101 and get some of the silly puns with product names. The story is really well written and builds and builds to a most fantastic ending. Life is nothing but flashlights at night.
It's a good thing no one killed me when I was in high school and tried to make it look like a suicide, because the underlinings I made in my copy of To The Lighthouse would have totally fooled everyone, Moby Dick-in-Heathers style.
Buku yang sangat bagus, alurnya sungguh ciamik, menggugah semangat sebagai satu manusia yang mencintai ibu pertiwi. Romantika cinta, indahnya persahabatan dan perjuangan meraih mimpi.. Nice N great..
