Excellent read. My kids love this book and we have read it over several times.

People seem to either love or hate Tosches. He has an awesome, poetic, and savage voice. This certainly isn't his best story, but screeds against the publishing business and paeans to Marlowe make up for it.

Only just got this and flipped through it idly. First impressions: easy to read, suitable for doula, student midwife, midwife, expectant parents who want in depth knowledge about prenatal care. The illustrations are very well done and a good complement to the photographs of laboring women.

This has to be my favorite book in the series thus far. I used to think Strider was an arogant jerk but he's one of my favorite characters. He tries to convince himself he's not attracted to Kaia because she slept with Paris. We find out Kaia has an issue with proving herself, due to a major catastrophy she caused when she was 14, and seem to have acceptance issues. Strider finally realized how he's hurting her emotionally and gives in. He becomes this understanding, caring guy you never knew existed prior to this book. I love the way the harpys are so crude and don't care what they say or who they say it to. One of my favorite parts was during the Tag fight, Sabin was cheering on Gwen and he shouts "that just happened" into the bull horn. The characters are so much fun I was smiling practically the whole time as I read the book. We learn a lot more about William like who his father and brother are and how he's related to the 4 horsemen of the apocolypse. I think I also found a bit of a connection to the upcoming spin off series Gena Showalter is writing with Lysander and the angles. There were no sad parts like the last two books, no heartbreaking deaths it was just a good fun book.

Dr. Kristin Neff's, Self-Compassion is the non-preachy book about how and why we beat ourselves up and how to stop. To engage with her reader, she clearly defines terms, explains relevant research, weaves in examples that include her personal experiences and stories from close friends to help her and her student (the reader) connect. Never did I perceive her attitude to be arrogant (I know it all and you don't) or condescending (can't you see, it's obvious stupid!). The book is grounded in research and science, but written with a caring and compassionate mindset.
What can I say? I love Atwood. Her prose is amazing, lyrical, intense. She desribes works of art so clearly, I don't need to see the pictures--she paints with her words.

Its okay so far. I'll let you know when am finished. I bought the entire series on my kindle. I have a lot of reading ahead of me! Ok, so I wasn't really happy with this. I didn't continue the series after book one.

Feisty woman (99yo) reviews her life and tracks down her husband's killer from her deathbed. Cheerier than it seems! The woman has interests beyond family - oh dear because this is written by a man? Some amusing scenes. She and her husbands are brittle but siblings and sons have less exciting and more touching lives.
历史小说和令人着迷的书呆子主角。 等不及了目前正在写的续集。
