I love the details and L. Frank Baum is great at words of imagery. The pictures are pretty cute, but you don't even need them! I really liked "The Wizard of Oz" film.

Not my typical read, but it was a fun book. I laughed out loud a few times. However the last chapter is a bit steamy. So I tried to skim through that section. But other then that, it was funny, and cute. A great light hearted romance.

While Reading: I'm having an extremely difficult time adjusting to this book. I love a great plot, and all of the short stories are forcing me to open up to other styles of literature. So far, I cannot make a connection between any of the stories, except for the ages, hopefully that will develop when I'm further along in the book. However, each short story keeps me attentive. Review: It did indeed get better. My favorite story was clay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clay_(sh... That even lead to further research (see link above). I think reading this book on my kindle was difficult because it was hard to flip back to the name of the short story. The last story kind of confused me, well the whole book does. I just wish there was some connection between the stories.

I didn't much care for this one and pretty much spent the entire book waiting for it to end. I thought the mystery was very boring.
"It's been a bit of a time warp. Some of my friends' lives have changed so much in the years I've toodled around, riding my bike in the sunshine." I wish I could include a visual excerpt of one of the great dancing girls in this book, but this quote (from the start of the book's final comic) will have to do.
This is absolutely an outstanding series. Just a couple small complaints to justify the 4-star rating instead of a 5-star; I think Katniss was too (1) aloof and (2) self-loathing in this book. She wasn't so in the first book. In fact, Katniss' strength and intellegence is one of the great aspects of book 1. Isn't this what we want to convey to young women? I'm not sure the reason for her digression toward Bella-like behavior. (Plot tool)? Hopefully she gets back to her old self in the next book of the series.

THe most "fun" of their collaborative works. Begin anywhere in the book, any chapter. Although, each chapter pertains to a different subject, you will come to realize, throughout thorough reading some striking pattern at work. Patterns not about the book, but about reality around you.
Eggers wrote this book in partnership with one of Sudan's Lost Boys, the main character, who had walked from Southern Sudan to Ethiopia and then to Kenya at the age of 9 or 10, boys alongside him falling to starvation, thirst, gunfire and wild animals all along the way. It opens with valentino, the main character, getting robbed in Atlanta, where he has been resettled, and thinking that if he could just tell his story to the young boy who had been left to guard him, it would make some kind of difference. this book gave me nightmares pretty much every night I read it, but it's extraordinarily powerful, and recommended for anyone (like me) who has a vague sense that terrible things are happening in Sudan, but not much else to go on.

Borges makes me wish I had a set of encyclopedias. When I read his short stories I believe what he is saying is the truth. It is the truth. What would Borges have thought of google? Bullshit!!! That's what he would of thought. Any Tlön would tell you that the Internet and anything posted on it is nothing but words written in a past that no longer exists. I love Borges. He teaches me things no one taught me in school. He taught me that life is now and only now. And there are many of my lives coexisting. Thanks Mr Borges.
