Review from my blog Much Loved Books Beyond the Grave picks up a few months after One Hundred Candles. Charlotte's Mum still in hospital and her relationship with Noah is going well. However she is suffering from panic attacks from her experience with the Watcher. Charlotte's Dad is spending time at the care home where her Mum is, and Shane and Trisha are making plans to get married. To help pick up some slack and keep money coming in Charlotte, Shane and Noah go to an abandoned prison to film some scenes to add into a documentary. After they have left the prison things start to happen to Charlotte, Noah and a new person is introduced to the storyline. Mara has outdone herself with this book, it is a paranormal lovers ideal read and I couldn't put it down. Beyond the Grave is a longer read than previous books but has a constant flow of progression with story. This has more supernatural goings on than the previous books and keeps you guessing right till the end about what will happen with everyone. I laughed, cried and cheered while reading this, and although it wraps up nicely I really hope a new book will be released. [Book from Netgalley for an honest review]

This was mentioned somewhere and I had to request it interlibrary loan to read it, since it is out of print. The stories were original. My favorite was The Invitation, about a woman living in a foreign country for 30 years and still living as an outsider.

Wonderful, beautiful book. It really helps one to understand the inner cries and desires of men's hearts. I cried through every chapter.

Pastan is like a feminine version of William Stafford.
Sherrilyn slightly changed her voice. Reading Retribution it read like Sundown channelled her to tell the story, his voice, all with cowboy slang. She still had the humor and action that Sherrilyn Kenyon is known for. It read more like an Urban Fantasy. She really did not focus too much on sex scenes like the previous. Even my hubby who read the book before me commented on the lack of sex scenes (which he was happy about. Less he had to skim over. Did it take away from the story? Absolutely NOT. There are books, with the plot, the character, were it doesn't matter if you had a sex scene or not. This is one of the books. The story, the plot, everything to deal with it made up for the lack of sex scenes. Many people may not like the introduction of other pantheons. Myself, the introduction of Native American lore and belief's brought a new direction. We met some new yet memorable characters. We also had characters from past books like.. Zarek! Oh yeah he still had me snickering and giggling. Talon! Sashah (man I missed his humor from Dance with the Devil)
