I hated the ending. Aside from that, I absolutely loved this novel. Could not put it down. I read it in one day - even took it into the bath with me, and had to refill the tub with hot water at least three times. The power of the storytelling, the simultaneous likeability and thorough unlikeability of the main character, the gentle twists of the plot ... it was a perfect escape book for those 22 hours.

after reading this I found myself feeling like a missionary, constantly informing my friends & family about all the fascinating information behind their everyday food products, whether they wanted to know it or not. an incredible depth of information on such a common and seemingly mundane topic as prepared food. I found Temple Grandin's Animals in Translation to be an interesting follow on to this book, presenting another view of the meat industry from an insider dedicated to preventing the sorts of abuses detailed in Fast Food Nation.

I think this was my least fav from the hunger games. ı was truly expecting a happy ending, but Katniss will never be nightmare-free. this book made me have sympathy 4 snow, and hate for gale, coin and most of all suzanne collins. she killed off all my favorıte characters; cinna, finnick, prim:( katnıss's mom would wısh to be dead. this rebelion ended up with only corpses. and when katniss voted 'yes' 4 the last hunger games played by capıtol children, i think suzanne collins gave a bad message. revenge. so why did i give it five stars? ı gave those 5 stars for rue, cinna, finnick, mags, prim, madge, boggs, portia and the dead avoxes. and yet, for peeta for beıng loyal, unlike assh*le gale and his stinkin bombs. i know these r only fıctıon characters, but wars r not fiction. people fight and people die. and this is the reality. thats why i gave 5 stars. once again, ı hate you collins 4 making me cry.

This is one of the best Coben books I have read; while all of his books I found to be easy to read in a day because of the constant surprises and suspense that make you say to yourself "okay, one more chapter" over and over, this one actually was more realistic than most of his books-----some of his others involved Bruce Willis-type-movie escapes every other page that left me slightly annoyed because it just kept me from taking the book as seriously as I would have liked to. But as far as this book, all in all, I really, really enjoyed this one.

Well, it was a little contrived, but something kept me reading it until the end. See for yourself if you like books that are a bit too much to believe, but have nice, warm fuzzy endings.

This is the second book by Asaro that I've read, and the her first science fiction. While I was impressed with her characterization and plotting in The Charmed Sphere, this novel blew it all away. Impressively thorough world-building and character development. The technology was a bit over my head and I still don't understand how things worked the way they worked in her universe, but that is a minor point in my enjoyment of the book. I'll be hunting for more books in this series.
