I know this is a good book but I did not like it. I was less concerned about the impending Armageddon than I was about getting the stupid thing over with. Too clever for me, I think.

I good read that is a little different than the usual "pass the time" fodder. I give it a B+

Although not my usual genre I found myself captivated by the story. The characters develop well throughout and the way they interact is plausible and heart warming. The book itself is well written and thought provoking, leaving the reader guessing as to what will happen next. The action and history elements of this story stop it from being a romantic novel, meaning so many more readers will enjoy the content.

Something different from Frank Herbert as it is not set in the far-flung future or on some other planet. Although it is a couple of decades old, its treatment of terrorism resonates today. And talk about revenge! One man uses his scientific knowledge to get even when an act of terrorism takes away his family, and not just the terrorists but the entire world pays the price. The method of his vengeance will quite probably change the way you look at some everyday activities nearly everyone shares.
I enjoyed this book -- a touching, well written cultural story about commitment, friendship & hardship amongst women within China!
Very good story will read rest of the books in series.
This does not seem all that different from the original Atkins book. However, it feels very current and the added sections are for vegans and vegetarians and those who eat out all the time. Includes success stories and generally easy to understand information.

Because there's bound to be stuff you missed, and Weisenburger's exegesis is pretty entertaining in its own right.

Several elements pulled me into this story. First, the characters were believable. From the responsible to the carefree, from the compassionate to the chilling, I've met these personalities in real life. Second, I cared about the main characters. I desperately wanted Dancer to overcome the impact of his early neglect and impoverishment. I felt emotionally invested in him and the surrounding cast. Simply put, I cared. While the first half pulled me in, the second half tightened its grip and refused to let me go. The pace quickened as the story pulled me inexorably to the dramatic conclusion. A very satisfying and personally impacting read. Well written; highly recommended.
