Reviewed by Allison Fraclose for TeensReadToo.com In New Yolk City, there lives a Hardboiled Detective who is the toughest egg around. Humpty Dumpty, Jr., has cracked every case that's come across his desk--except one, the one that made him become a detective. Putting that aside, he's won tons of awards for solving crimes, all the while putting himself at odds with the local police precinct. One day, while reading the headlines in the paper, Humpty answers the phone, only to hear a scream before the line goes dead. He traces the call to the Pat-A-Cake Bakery, and rushes over there to check on his friend, Patty. He finds the lock to the door missing, just vanished, and baking supplies, ingredients, and recipe cards for Patty's magical cakes and pastries scattered all over the place. While investigating, Humpty finds a piece of evidence--a playing card featuring the Jack of Hearts--on the ground. When he hears a noise from the storeroom and goes to investigate, an attacker leaps from the shadows, and Humpty is suddenly locked in a battle against someone who could possibly be Patty's kidnapper. Armed only with his magic egg-beater wand and his wits, Humpty wastes no time in finding out all he can to save Patty and crack this case. His search will take him from Queens (to question the Knave of Hearts), to the sewers, to a highly charged final battle with an old foe on the outskirts of town. The first book in a hilarious new series, created by three veteran authors and illustrators of children's books, this is one egg-citing set of books that will surely keep any younger or reluctant reader glued to the page to laugh as long as possible.

This was just OK. I was really looking forward to this book because of the hard sci-fi premise, but frankly was disappointed. While the 'reveal' at the end about the 'truth' of the book was quite interesting, the characters felt stock. Another soppy YA romance trying to capitalize on Twilight.

Not bad for a free Kindle download. Liked the concept of "Prisoners Dilemma".

Fabulous historical fiction. Very enjoyable - but NOT a quick read. I was quickly drawn into the world of the Highlands and completely captivated by the red-headed Highland Warrior James Alexander Malcom McKenzie Fraser. Usually I find books that give such historical accounts with lingering development difficult to read but not so with this one! Claire is a delight and her adventure(s) kept me rivetted.
Again, I love this genre of book! What a culture.

There is an answer to the question that hasn't been asked. This book is a rip off. You will not find out why cats have no lord in this book that blatantly promises to be about that very subject. I want my penny back. In fact, I'm charging interest and I want TWO pennies back. Three pennies for pain and suffering. More appropriate titles: Every bad fantasy cliche in one book. Breeches crimson cords boots hair breeches robes breeches blah blah pointless clothing details breeches did I mention that they wear breeches? Buckskin breeches. Tight breeches. Tan breeches. This book is too big for its breeches! Wish fulfillment lame-o super powers book. Instill a lifelong hatred of fantasy in any kid who reads this. I cry false advertisement! Holy shit this is Emma Bull's husband. She's a better writer than him but they totally fell in love over a mutual love for Mary-Sue characters and wish fulfillment! Unless... Why were there all those missing pages? Like they had been ripped out? Duh duh duh! I almost found out why someone is moving heaven and hell to make sure the question isn't even asked. Why do cats have no lord?

I like these series very much, the writing style is similar to Richelle Mead's one which is great, very easy and fun to read :).

** spoiler alert ** See the full review at: Read My Mind My Review: I read all kinds of romance, but there's something about a book that explores a woman's desire to fulfill one of her fantasies that I really am intrigued by. COPPING TO IT does just that, with the female lead, Claire. It seems as if she is caught in a bad situation all too easily, and ends up in the clutches of a ne'er do well bike gang that uses public sexual acts, as a way to initiate its members. Of course, the person that she is "given" to, is long-time crush, and undercover cop, Ty. And, so begins her fantasy to be a bad girl with this man that she has loved for many years. I quite enjoy a good friends-to-lovers story, but I am not so keen on the unrequited (until some inciting event happens to tip the male character over the edge) trope that can happen in romance. It's interesting how Meyers managed to somewhat blend both aspects of these tropes into something different. Ty certainly has feelings for Claire, but his undercover work has prevented him from acting on anything. On another hand, he obviously sees Claire in a new light when he realized her intense desire to act on, what most women might consider forbidden fantasies, especially in light of the inherent danger they could both be in, if the stand-in leader of the biker gang discovers Ty's real identity. All in all, I really enjoyed the intense heat between Claire and Ty and the way that the semi-public (or voyeuristic) sexual scenes were written. The pacing is done extremely well; there is an m/f/m scene that happens when the characters should be trying to make their escape, but the briefness of the interlude, and the danger they might be in by delaying is kept in the forefront. I didn't feel that this paused the plot, in any way. Looking for a milder, quick read that illuminates a sexual fantasy that both men and women could enjoy? Look no further than COPPING TO IT. It will get your pulse pounding, and keep you on the edge of your seat with a story line that expands slightly beyond the sexual content. 3.5/5 for plot 4/5 for characters 4/5 for language My Rating: 11.5/15 (3.5 stars) Highly Recommended, if you liked: Never have I Ever by Alisha Rai Talk Dirty to Me by Ginny Glass
