Sad and very depressing. I read this in one day because it was so suspenseful but I ended up being disappointed at the ending. Would it kill the author to make at least the ending somewhat happy??? I'm not a fan of depressing books and I will not be seeing the movie!

Very informative book on how to train and lead dogs. I learned a lot from this book. Found that a good deal of what we have done with Bailey is correct, but some needs modification. I am already working on that part of her behavior. There are some issues with Bailey that need tending to - this book will be a good reference as I work with individual items. If you own a dog, I think you will get a lot of this book. Whether is is a puppy or a grown dog that you may think is "set in its ways", you can change behavior - and the dog wants you to LEAD.

This book is very well written and will have you at the very beginning. I was so taken with the main character - how he sacrificed his own happiness to do what he though was best, only to realize at the end that he had sacrficed everyone else's happiness as well. A great book discussion book.

I read this a while ago, but loved it. The movie version comes out April 22, 2011! The chapters of this book go back and forth from current day nursing home resident to the time of the Great Depression when the main character was a college student. Current day finds him in a nursing home getting ready to eat lunch when the nursing assistants wheel in a new patient and sit him at the same table. It turns out the new patient is a retired lawyer. He hates lawyers and when the next chapter goes back to 1929, you find out why.
