I have been moved by this book. Not only does Lappe give tangible suggestions for how to eat in a more health conscious way, she goes deeper to explain how the actions we take at the dinner table and beyond impact people around the world. Lappe, while clearly an expert in her field, makes clear and understandable connections between the economics and politics of poverty to our own lives. I would be shocked if those who agree with her aren't moved to change their eating and buying decisions after reading this book.

There's nothing like family. Jonah and Tisha finds out in the end. I so loved this story.
One of my favorite books in high school. If you like fairy tales, and time-traveling Shakespearian actors, this one's for you.

Still as excellent as the first time I read it (though this time makes five!). Are there more memorable characters anywhere than Pip and Ms. Havisham? A complete masterpiece of plot, character, and writing!

I've loved all the Reichl memoirs. The combination of good writing and good food is addictive. I never thought I'd re-read a memoir, but I've read Tender at the Bone and Comfort Me with Apples a couple times. This one focuses on Ruth Reichl's NYT food critic years, pre-Gourmet. The story's told through focusing on the identies she invented to stay anonymous for reviews and how her life looked different when she was someone else. Kind of makes me want to go out and buy a wig and see how it goes.
Easy read for those who might be interested in a detox.. he lays out a specific method that hails back to ayurvedic medicine... it is only one type of detox of the many that are out there

The first time I read P.G. Wodehouse I almost fell off my couch with laughter. If you were a fan of "Frasier" and enjoyed the good years of that sitcom, this might be your cup of tea. I can't help but wonder if the writers were fans of Wodehouse. DAMSEL IN DISTRESS, long before any t.v. show did, showed just how a simple misunderstanding could quickly become messy and quite entertaining...

This Elseworlds is bleeping amazing. It's incredibly thoughtful, attentive to detail, and features Batman as a Soviet terrorist. What else could you want?
