bleh. I don't think Kiran Desai writes well enough to get away with a pretty much non-existent plot, and i've thankfully forgotten some of her more ridiculous descriptions

Not bad. Just not enough content. The author tried but not with a lot of success to make you feel for the characters. Just the format of the book was a little too typical.

I was forced to read this book in high school and despised it then. As a college student I thought maturity would allow me to give it more credit then I once had. Unfortunately, I was not and I am still not a fan of this book.

Ok, everything about this book is kitsch, unoriginal, predictable and shallow EXCEPT the parts where Capella describes the preparation of the dishes Tomasso prepares. As a keen cook, I really loved the descriptive passages describing in great detail the ingredients, and the preparation of some pretty good Italian cuisine. Good research into the culinary aspect. Atrocious plot.
ill read it and get back to you tommie lol

This book has such an interesting premise and is well written, but it just didn't grab me. I would give this one another try, perhaps when I am less jammed with books to read. I'm in LOS (Librarian Overload Syndrome). After reading some other reviews, I've noticed that other readers thought the book became tedious at points. Perhaps that explains my fizzing out about halfway through--I just didn't care anymore about the characters. Once you stop caring about the characters, you might as well stop reading about them.
This was amusing but I thought that this wasn't the best Moore book I've read. I liked Fluke better.

Lo más excelente fue esto. Divertido y fabuloso. Lloré en un momento por algo muy malo que sucedió. Fui a ver a JSF hablar en el Centro Cultural Judío y él era soñador y Vanessa Feltz estaba allí, ¿puedes creerlo?
