I didn't want to read this (because I am a huge snob), but I actually kind of enjoyed it. It had a bit of what I understood about Travels with Charlie--the need to escape, the desire to be without commitments.

One of the most boring books I have ever had to read for school. This book like Fast Food Nation seems to me like the school system trying to cram their views down the neck of it's students. The book is nothing but cut dry facts and opinions of one person living a life on minimum wage, maybe people living on minimum wage are so unhappy because our modern society is based on material possessions and if people weren't so focused on having 200 TV channels or a cell phone with talk text and data all unlimited we might find a little more money for the necessities and not have to fight to survive.

Very good - much better than I had anticipated.
Upon reaching the fill in the blank for "date I read this book," I find myself at a loss. I have never finished On the Road. I have attempted three times to read this book, and have failed all three times. Knowing its important place in American literature, I felt compelled to master Kerouac, to see what he saw. However, this book is dreadfully dry and progresses so slowly that I lose interest every time. The labor involved in trying to read this has been greater than for any other book I've ever attempted to read. It isn't hard, it isn't long, it is just horrendously, inexcusably boring. The characters are too forgettable to keep track of, and there is so little action that I couldn't help but put it down, rub my eyes, and go to sleep.

A great read that is centered around my homestate of NJ. When Adriana learned that I had never read this book, she personally sent a hand-autographed copy to me in Colorado. What a wonderful thing for an author to do!

Excellent! I didn't want to pu this one down when I started reading. Basically a guy suffers severe memory loss and paralysis, only to be awarded a huge settlement fee after he has been rehabilitated. So how does he spend his money? Well as he becomes more obessed with the motion and actions that make up our life, and the idea of memory in his mind, he puts his money towards projects that allow him to re-create what he has become obsessed with in the world around him. One of the most original, creative, and compelling books I've read in some time.

This book was good. The telling of the murders and the hunt for the murderers made you feel like you were apart of it. The facts from other people made it like reading an episode of Dateline or something.
This book was gross and funny at the same time. This book is funny. I don't remember everything that happened. When I read this book it I thought it was the funniest thing ever but that was awhile ago. I love these comic type books because they are easy to read, and quite funny. I think everyone should read these books. So read them now! ~Bookworm~
