I read this 100 times as a child, no kidding. From beginning to end then back to beginning. The plot is pretty much nonexistent, but the characters fuel a kid's imagination.

My younger kids choose this off the shelf for me to read to them on occasion. Its got fun poems , short ones to not too long, all about stuff relating to food....Here's a good one : On Eating Porridge Made of Peas - Peas Porridge hot, Peas porridge--hold! Who eats peas porridge ? Who is so bold ? I know I never munch Peas porridge for my lunch, &, as for dinner, Peas porridge is no winner. Peas porridge ice cold, Peas porridge tepid, Who eats peas porridge ? Who could be so stupid ? Peas porridge nine days old - ugh ! I think I'd prefer to eat a rug. Louis Phillips

This was a nice love story. The characters are bitter and they evolve quite a bit. It was an okay for Lori Copeland.
Meh. Not terribly likable characters and an ending I hated. I mostly enjoyed the first half of the book.

Rusty thinks to be a pretty normal guy. Yes, he have some weird feelings and he can't remember something happen when he was in high school, but, apart this, he has a good work as costumer. Ok, he has a strange strenght for a pretty slim and cute guy like him, but he has only to learn to control him... maybe his social life is pretty lonely cause he doesn't trust himself to lose control with other people and sex is a good way to lose all the inhibition. So when he meets Shiro he is confused: why he feels attraction for this guy? He has never before felt sexual attraction for a guy. Sure Shiro his very handsome, blonde and broad shoulder and pretty pushing, but he has no intention to have sexual intercourse with a man. But then he discovers that Shiro is not a normal man, he is a fox spirit, a really fox-human kind of being, with flurry ears and beautiful long tail... a bautiful white fox where he himself his a cute red fox. Cause Shiro many years ago has made him into his consort and now that he has found him again, he has no intention to let him go away. A really interesting story who mixed paranormal romance with oriental myth. Rusty is not the usual uke, he is strong willed and heat tempered, like a true red-head. Shiro is somewhat more cold, white and distant, but very passionate. He is, I think, more young in age than Rusty, but he has an aura of power around him that easily identify him has a leader. The story is not too short, but sometimes I have the feeling that the author has cut it to stay under a certain lenght... I'd like to read a little more about this two, and maybe have some hints more about the life of Shiro between Rusty's turn and the present time. But regardless, it's a very enjoyable story and sex is playful without being too kinky. http://www.amazon.com/dp/155410680X/?...

Growing up, I read a lot of books for various English classes, some I enjoyed, some I didn't care for that much. Unfortunately, "The Giver" came along a few years after I graduated because, looking back, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more than a good chunk of the novels I read back in middle school. In the near future, Jonas is a 12-year-old boy who is a member of a society that seems to be a virtual utopia. People are unfailing nice, everyone gets along, there is little or no suffering or strife. There are a set of rigid rules to be followed and observed for the members of the society. If the rules are violated, the person is made to apologize. If there is a persistent violation of the rules, the person is "removed" from society. Although it is a farfetched idea, i think that this book is a really good read and would recommend it to people.

It made me stay up all night reading and crying. I had to keep switching sides on my pillow because it was getting so wet by tears!

So, this book is considered not only Fitzgerald's greatest work but one of the greatest books of the twentieth century. I still haven't figured out what makes a book one of the greatest or what makes it a classic. I did appreciate the statement that Fitzgerald made about relationships being a front for self-gain. The preface notes that the book didn't sell that well while Fitzgerald was alive. I bet if the book were a new release today, it would suffer the same lack of popularity.

Another awesome Gerittson read. If you like history, murder, mystery, thriller, love story , you'll love this one. The way she put the "past" and "present" together was perfect. To me, if the "present" wasn't added, it would have been just another murder mystery. Would love to read more story lines like this one.

Really loved these short stories. Very sweet and enjoyable. Loved Lisa Klepas' story "Promises", it had Derek Craven in it and I really want to read his story now. If you love any of these authors I recommend this book.

Very readable. The discussions of corn and organic farming were particularly interesting.
