Strange and wonderful, with awesome art and great character development. Not sure I'm motivated enough to collect the further adventures, but if I had purchased the 'perfect edition' release, I would have definitely kept on reading.

I was disappointed by how little of any note happened in this book. Eragon at least had a plot, however poor it was. After this, I decided never to read Christopher Paolini again.

Usually, I don't write reviews but this one was...special. While I enjoyed the first two, I was excited to see that the writing had improved greatly and I could actually relate to Ana more fully than before. But this ending? I was so pissed off with this ending I was yelling at my Kindle as though it had control of the matter. I mean...wtf?! *SPOILER* Im usually excited when authors break the 'happy ever after' rule, but this was just annoying. Why couldn't they have just let her die and that be the end of it? Why did they have to go through all the other crap? I would have been happy just knowing that she died after achieving her destiny. I was definitely not expecting the whole Taylor/darren thing. That being said, I enjoyed every other moment of this book. The action scenes were decent and Ana has come a long way since accepting everything that comes her way without a second thought. Good book all in all but I should've stopped before that last chapter.

Ok, I had a hard time deciding what to give this one. 4? 4.5? 5? I have a hang up about giving books that aren't ~masterpieces~ a five star rating. There are books like Jane Eyre and Shakespeare's plays, etc. I'm an English major, this nerdy stuff happens. But in the end, I decided that a tremendously well written novel that didn't do all that pandering to the audience bullshit OR that "I'm going to satisfy myself with this book" asswipery DESERVED a five. Becca Fitzpatick has left tremendously large shoes for herself to fill... and I think she'll be able to do it. Oh, and Patch is an understated DREAM. Just what you want from a strong man in a book. Don't do that overboard BS, it's not necessary. Just be strong and confident.
