Loved it, I knew very little about her, Margret Beaufort. She was a remarkable woman in English history. This is what I love about Philippa Gregory she makes me "know" these people, feel like I am there. I just love it! This was yet another that I could not put down.

There are a lot of reasons to be jealous of Anne Carson: she's ridiculously smart; she picks things to write about that you wish you'd thought of; she puts words together like a dream... But you don't have time to be jealous because she's too busy wowing you on page 1 and breaking your heart on page 5 and then the book's over and you start again at the beginning, hoping to have it all happen again. And it does.
Oooh, I liked this one. I thought it was really well-written, lyrical in places, the characterization was excellent, and the plot kept me reading. There are two main mysteries here -- in 1984, three children, friends, went in the woods and disappeared. One was found the next day, mute, with no knowledge of anything that happened, his shoes filled with blood not his own. Got your interest, right? It did mine. Well that kid grows up to be a police detective and now, in the present, gets involved with the murder of another child in the same woods. The second mystery, the modern one, is solved. The first mystery, our protagonist's personal mystery, isn't. On Amazon the reviews are equally split all the way down from 5 stars to one star and even here on GoodReads there's a lot of the same split. Interesting. I think it's because the first mystery, really the more interesting one, isn't solved that drives people nuts. It itches a bit, like a bug bite you can't reach. I had to create my own theory about what happened to Adam's two friends and it's a doozy. (I'll keep it to myself so as not to be too spoilerish.) I love the first-person narration, and I love how French uses the limitations of it to increase the suspense. Also, and sort of as a side note, French's character treatment of psychopathy is EXCELLENT. Really spot on. I thought she did an exceptionally realistic job (not a Hollywood job) of it. And yea! There's a sequel (of sorts.)
yeah no closure, all that build up and yadda, nothing happened!!!

Anna Dressed In Blood is officially one of my new favorite books of all time. Let's just get that established and out of the way. This review will be fairly short because I'm trying to keep the gushing to a minium. You will find that I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this brilliant book or its ridiculously talented author, Kendare Blake. She crafted this incredible horror story that, most importantly, scared the crap out of me, but it also made me laugh and made me swoon and, at times, nearly made me cry. I was so weary of this book, even when I began reading it. A ghost-killer meets a pretty ghost who spares his life? Predictable. Said ghost-killer boy manages to befriend the gorgeous popular girl? Yawn. But the more I read, the more stupid my assumptions became. Anna is not predictable, not at all. It grabbed hold of me and whipped me in all sorts of directions with its daring, exciting twists and turns. There was definitely never a boring moment. And you know a book is always a success when it can take two emotions on completely different ends of the spectrum and manage to mesh them together without fail. Anna Dressed In Blood is highly disturbing but highly entertaining at the same time. I've never had so much fun being scared and grossed out before. I could sit here and dissect this book for you all, but I don't think I need to. Whoever said there's no such thing as perfection is a liar because Anna Dressed In Blood is the perfect horror story - scary, disturbing, romantic, intense and action-packed and so, so much more. I cannot begin to stress how much you all need to get yourself a copy of this book. A million and one stars to Anna!
I really enjoyed this book! They won't make a movie about it and there won't be sequel and I LOVE that. I even had a few laugh-out-loud moments.

I'm ready for something new. I'm over the guys, well mostly jer. I hate that they keep getting back together when he's clearly not right and their not working. I don't want to give away what glory is but let's just say its nothing new. When I first heard the storyline was going there I was excited, when I realized where it went not so much. The next book seems to be making a change at least in environment, I hope it's also the final end to the relationship.
