Hilarious! I love this book and I love Dave White. I want to hang out with him, make fun of shit on TV then go to a Sonic Youth concert.

This book is perfect for any history/science buffs in your life. I don't think you need to be a chemistry major to enjoy this book, but an interest in science would certainly help. The history here is fascinating, and the scientific connections are well explained with Penny's great diagrams. I'll keep this one on my bookshelf for some quality re-reading.
Self help books normally make me want to vomit. Or at least squirm uncomfortably. This book I can honestly recommend without reserve. It gives real and practical advice on conflict. I think that the title is some what misleading as you don't have to have a problem with anger to get something out of this book. It sort of addresses that when she talks about how there are people who express anger externally and those who internalize. Either way, this book is very readable and gave me a lot of insight on different methods I could use to channel my anger in a more productive manner. I'm pretty confident this is the only self help book I will EVER review. So that in itself should speak volumes.
This is my flying to Italy book. Hope it is long enough.
This is a rough book. If you can't handle reading about brutality to women, don't venture any further. It was pretty amazing, though. 2 perspectives on rape--I don't know that you can judge either girl's reaction unless you have experienced this horror.
I once had a professor who said this should be "required reading before marriage." I very much agree.

This book was fantastic - I loved it loved it loved it! I wasn't too certain at first as it seemed to be a little *too* coarsely written and thrown together but after a while I really got into it and I realised that the style of the writing is what actually makes the book. Highly recommended and five stars :-)
one of the better efforts from the racetrack specialist. an unusual hero, still the quiet but strong introverted one, highly intelligent and self-reliant, but this time one burdened by a crippling depression. The bad guy is more in line with the usual Francis typecast : moneyed, smooth, greedy, less prone to violence than in other books. Also typical is the presence of a very appealing female companion. The plot is of course about racehorses, and the setting moves from the Thames riverbanks to Kentucky green hills, the snowy Tetons, Las Vegas and the Pacific beaches. recommended for anyone willing to try a solid thriller from a master of the genre.
Oy -- those who don't read history only repeat it. The parallel with the Bush/Cheney crimes against Guantanamo prisoners makes me shudder.

The characters in this book were well-rounded and interesting. I liked the twists it took. It was hard to put this book down.
