Disappointed in the ending but it was believable. Once again raises questions in our legal system. Is any place free from corruption?

I don't really know what I think about this book. Sometimes I really hate it and sometimes I really love it. I'll just give it a solid three stars. I added this book so long ago and I had no idea that this book was about werewolves which was a big surprise to me. No I did not read what the name of the series is. I'm not sure if I will continue with the series. Overall it was fun,but frustrating at times.
Didn't like it so much

Anything written by Jane Austen you know is going to be amazing, and this one was no different. However, I found myself not liking the heroine Fanny Price. She is kind and sweet but way too serious with zero personality. Great story though! Loved the twists and turns the story took.

This was a cute book. I think it's pretty cool how all the stuff that happens in the book can relate back to you know matter which way you look at it.

Towles, Amor. RULES OF CIVILITY. (2011). ****. This is an excellent first novel by this author, whose day job is at an investment firm in New York. It is a retrospective account of a year in the life of Katey (Katy) Kontent, a young woman who, in 1938, was just starting out on her career as a publisher’s assistant. It is told from the vantage point of 1966, when she and her then husband, Val, are taking in an exhibit at MOMA of a series of photographs by Walker Evans, taken of people in a subway car using his secret camera. Two of the photos were of an old acquaintence of Katy, Theodore (Tinker) Grey, taken about a year apart. In the earlier shot, Tinker looked very prosperous, wearing an expensive overcoat and what appeared to be a custom-tailored suit beneath it. The photo from a year later showed him in a tattered overcoat that looked as if it came from The Salvation Army. The photos shock Katy into a mode of remembrance, when she and Tinker and a girlfriend, Evelyn (Eve), were an item in the city. They were all young and gay and ready to face life on their own terms. On top of it all, Tinker had money, and wasn’t afraid to spend it on the two women and himself in pursuit of all the pleasures New York had to offer. The three of them enjoyed each others’ company and were relatively care free. Things began to change for the trio, however, and life intruded upon their relationship. The story of these changes takes through New York’s pre-war club and restaurant scene and into the lives of the very rich. It seems that these very rich had their own separate agendas. The author provides excellent characterization of his three main protagonists, along with pitch perfect dialog. Recommended.
A must-read for epic fantasy. Amazingly intricate, the first time I have ever read intrigue done so WELL, so addictively. This series is already a classic of the genre.

Read this for my bookgroup. It has some good parts such as when he went back to Kenya to learn more about his father who deserted him. Also explored his white mother's family roots in Hawaii where he grew up. For me parts of it seemed rather 'wordy'. But I did come away feeling that i knew more about our President.
