I loved this -- and I've found most of Mieville unreadable. Charming magic realism about two cities that are geographically congruent but socially excluded from eachother -- with border controls and everything. And a detective story. Read it.

Of all the P&P sequels to date, this is certainly the best. Firstly, it is Mary's story that continues so there are not as many constraints. Also, true to form, McCulloch as wovene the historical facts in with the story. She has also achieved the closest characterisation of the other characters that we are more sentimentally attached to. But I think the best evidence is that I've already re-read parts of it and that is what I have always done with Austen...so three cheers to Colleen.

This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read! Rob Bell, one of the BEST speakers ever, is a pastor at a church in Michigan. His speaking/writing make me want to move to Michigan to be able to hear him speak every Sunday. In this book, he speaks of the early church, explaining that we need to revert back to old ways and traditions. He references the Bible (which I think pastors do not do enough of these days), and knows Hebrew. You'll love this book! It's an easy read, but it also makes you think.

I'm not much on war history, but this is a good book about a little know bit of history. I never would have read it but for someone thrusting it into my hand and expecting me to tell him what I thought about it. I couldn't avoid it, so I just read it and got it over with. Not a waste of time in the end.
