I love Maeve Binchy's writing---what more can I say!

This is a hilarious (and at times offensive) sci-fi novel. Malzberg is one of the great new wave sci-fi writers that has now fallen through the cracks. Probably can't find this one in print, but libraries should have it.

4.5 out of 5. An excellent novel. The story is lush, richly told, authentic, and captivating. The characters are expertly rendered, compelling to the point of heartbreak. I haven't read a book I enjoyed this much in recent memory.

I'm not into dog, I'm not into racing....yet somehow, this book about racing, from a dog's point of view, is AMAZING to me. I absolutely LOVED it. It lets you look at human behavior from an outside persepctive and teaches you how to be a better person. Great book.
The book started off well but tended to jump around a bit, from person to person, from present to past. Sometimes it was difficult to know if it was in the past or present that things were happening. But all in all it was an interesting read.

Already read two books by Dando-Collins, "Nero's Killing Machine, The True Story of Rome's Remarkable 14th Legion" and "Caesar's Legion: The Epic Saga of Julius Caesar's Elite Tenth Legion and the Armies of Rome" Both excellent. Already on Chapter three and have to say, if you are interested in early Roman empire and/or early church history, then these books are great for understanding without the heavy reading of college textbooks and other dry research. Fun., fast, educational, factual...what more could you want?!

Hessler has some great stories, but needs a better editor. Some of the stuff he thinks is interesting is really... not. In my opinion. But I learned a lot about Chinese culture and history, so overall it was a worthwhile read.

So excited to read this when I saw it on the new shelf at the library. I read it quickly to myself since Natalie isn't yet versed in the potty. But this book is coming home with us when we start potty training. It was just as funny and adorable as the first one. As the book goes on, you start to squirm a little thinking that Dinosaur must have to pee. I liked how there was still roaring, as that was our favorite out loud part of the first book. My only concern with this book is kids might think they could wait too long before going potty, but if you read it as Dinosaur goes when he gets that feeling, then I don't think it will be a problem.

I found this book a hard one at first I struggled to get into it but the build up of the main characters was a good one in the end. Maybe when I got the ser of the series I can judge. This is my first book by Kathy I have read. Maybe it being a author I dont normally read didnt help.
