Outstanding - I've always been interested in Boyd, and this book didn't disappoint. I think this will be a good foundation for the future - learned a lot of interesting things here.

I know it won the Booker Prize, but for me it was decidedly "eh"

When i read this book for the first time. Eons ago. It was for me a small but enjoyable fairy tale to read. Later i found out this book is a good introduction for Philosophy classes. I liked the book. Liked also the move that was made out of it. I dont own this book but read it many times.

This book is mostly humor wrapped around fashion faux pas. It was worth reading to get a good laugh but I wouldn't buy it for my collection.

The only thing that saved this book was Karl the monkey!! Ms. Evanovich is slacking! It would have helped if she had a different narrator. It sounded too much like her Stephanie Plum novels.

This is the first book in her Branfords series and my first time reading her work. I met this author at Rom Con in 2010 and was pretty psyched when I came across her book in my searches on Amazon. Overall, I really liked Nicholas’s writing. She has a great voice, the characters were interesting, and the underlying story (not the romance part) was probably something that really does happen. ER Surgeon Ben Torres is the best. He knows–and everyone else–knows this. So when he decides he’s had enough with medicine, he takes it out on a particularly surly and drunk (and regular) patient giving his staff a hard time. The consequences are suspension, so he does the second thing he’s been hankerin’ for–he finally gives in to kissing one of his ER nurses and crushes, Jessica Bradford. Little does he know that Jess has been hankerin’ for this kiss just about as much as he has. The hospital staff is worried he’s going off the deep end, so they enlist Jess to keep an eye on him and to use whatever means necessary to do so. Then the fun begins… The story was fun, but I think it was a little too dramatic for me at times. Ben was really happy, then immediately sad, then back and forth. This caused Jess to be very reactionary. If this were real life, I would not recommend these two stay together, so that’s why I had a difficult time with the romance part. Otherwise, this book was good and one I’d suggest checking out if you are looking for a new contemporary romance author. This is the first book in a series, so if you like the Bradfords (there are three of them that we meet right away), this might be a fun series to get into.

I love Jodi Picoult and her newest novel is exactly what I expected of her. Ironically, it is about a high-school shooting. I finished it the day before the Virginia Tech tragedy. Pretty good overall. It jumps around from past to present in an interesting way... not at all distracting.

Well written, disturbing and uncomfortable fantasy story about Angel, a gay photographer in Finland who takes in a young troll. Eventually he finds himself attracted to the troll, whom he names Pessi. Other characters in this story are morally ambiguous types who use each other. There is only one woman character, Palomita, a neighbor who is sexual slave. A quick read.
