This is an excellent book. One that I would read again. There was something in her story and her writing that spoke to me. I recommend it to any one who is a soul searcher.

Great standard Highlander romance. It's a formula, but I like that formula. Sweet girl with a secret falls for dashing laird and despairs that he doesn't love her (he does). She's outgoing and smart, but shy and troubled by a past of neglect and abuse. It was adorable. I'll read the rest of this trilogy, for sure. (4 stars)

First off, i love iva ibbhotson. she's on of my favoriote authors. but this book seemed to have a little more of an exotic flavor than she usually writes. set in brazil, of course it would be exotic. usually her books are set somewhere in europe. i liked this book a lot. it sort of had a hazy feel the whole time.

Crazy shit! I could never live in the 60's (unlike everyone else in my damn generation. It's gone! Leave it!) But it's crazy to read about the things that went on. Not so much free love, as a detachment from reality. I feel like half the generation was thinking, 'lets explore the possibilities of a higher conscious!', and the other half was thinking 'I'm want to do the opposite of mommy and daddy, and fuck anything that moves!'. It's amazing these people are my elders.

Love it, love that Lewis Carroll was high as a kite almost the entire time he wrote it. Disturbing but beautiful at the same time, both kids and adults can enjoy. Also a great animated film and a fun Disneyland ride.
