** spoiler alert ** Ironically, I had read 'The Green Mile' just before I read this book and thought there were quite a few similarities. A man who has powers that can't be explained by himself or anyone else is convicted for murder that he may not have committed and is sentenced to death. The story isn't exactly the same of course but similar. The religion talk got on my nerves after a bit and I had already guessed one of the twists (that happens toward the end) fairly early on in the story. This was an interesting story and I enjoyed reading it but I didn't love it.

I really liked this YA book - the voice of the main character, the story (well-crafted, no holes left in the plot) and the switching of POV. It was definitely my kind of book; funny, off beat, yet touching upon serious issues.

Very good writing and research combined with a gripping story. I am by way of being a Romanov-nut, and Penny Wilson and Greg King have come up with a definitive look at the last months of Nicholas and Alexandra, their five children and assorted servants.

This book popped my Chucky P. cherry...and led to reading every one of his other books and seeing him read twice and having everything of his signed and writing him a letter and receiving a package from him. I love my Chucky P!
In Cold Dawn, Carla Neggers has crafted an absorbing tale of suspense that kept me guessing till the very end. She deftly managed to spread suspicion to almost every character in the book and throw in a few red herrings, too. The romantic angles had plenty of tension and she carried it nicely throughout. Not your everyday romantic suspense, there were more plot twists than I would have thought possible, but she left no annoying loose ends. Her characters were multi-dimensional and by the end of the first chapter, I was vested in them. Well thought out, crisp writing, tense, and interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

wait til they fall asleep then softly, gently work the Bible from their grip, and place this inside
Lovers of the film beware...you have to get the dream of Audrey Hepburn out of your mind. Capote's true vision of Ms. Golightly is far more selfish, dirty, worldly and in short, human. Her skill to manipulate her surroundings as if they were attached appendages is more gift than art and her chameleon-like ability to adapt to any environ makes her believably sympathetic within the basic animal instinct of self-preservation. And also romance lovers, George is gay.

I was very dissatisfied with this book. As a matter of fact, I didn't read any of Hornby's books after this for a while. The couple in the book irritated me and left me wondering how I finished the story at all.
