yancey is one of those guys that is a closet liberal that writes to a conservative right-wing audience. i'm glad that he's stayed a part of the ccm movement in order to influence it with his experiences and perspectives. i also enjoyed his reflective, pseudo-contemplative style throughout this book (making it a post-modern hit).

This book was a spin-off from a comic series (which was also made into a TV series) - and a follow-up book to Captain Pugwash A Pirate Story and Pugwash Afloat. As such I should really have known all the characters - but John Ryan does a great job of ensuring this book works well as a stand alone work. Overall this book wasn't spectacular, simply the usual mediocre fare from a long-running series.

Two people from extremely different backgrounds unexpectedly given the opportunity to positively influence someone's life. I thought the author did a great job at taking her characters out of their comfort zone, and showing her readers how change can teach us so much about ourselves and others. Both characters have major issues to overcome, but it was entertaining to experience the awkward and intense moments through the eyes of both characters.

Without peace of mind and the willingness to see what great things life has really bestowed upon us, success can be a very bland and muddy perception. This book is full of chuckles and tears and all that life dishes out – a great read! Perhaps Olney’s book will inspire others to share their life’s stories. An extra-ordinary collection of heartwarming, real-life stories, this book is highly recommended by award-winning author, Emily-Jane Hills Orford, Allbooks Reviews.
