Kinda funny but also the "I'm an a dbag to everyone...isn't that funny" gets a bit old. Good to read in spurts but hard to sustain any lengthy duration of time.

This was a really good book. I read a lot of Scottoline, and this was different than her usual.

Started out wonderful. Fell pretty flat. I can't believe what he did to the independent and strong main character.

I honestly only read this book because I feel like it is one of those books you "have" to read. I wasn't disappointed by it but I found some of the characters to be mildly annoying at times. I don't know if I would ever read it again but I glad I have! It gave me some good context for the LOTR series which I have already read. I look forward to seeing how the movies turn out.
It's on the way will post back once I've read it!

Her story is truly amazing, a better and more entertaining story than most fiction that I've read this year.
3.5 stars Darkly enticing, Glow was a gripping novel, even if it had its flaws. The concept was creative and well researched, but the way it was executed fell a bit short. First of all, the love triangle really didn't make any sense to me, but maybe that was simply because we didn't get to see much of Kieran and Waverly's relationship. Kieran's and Seth's personalities came off as rather weak; Waverly and some of the other girls turned out to be far stronger protagonists. Also, way the book was divided was a bit choppy--instead of alternating back and forth from Waverly's and Kieran's POVs, it was narrated in chunks and I sometimes forgot what had happened earlier. Nonetheless, the plot twists were amazing, and the ending chillingly disturbing (view spoiler)

Louise Hall Tharp brings Mrs. "Jack" Gardner to life. We learn of her fascinating Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum -no architect was more hands on than she- as we see how she gave as good as she got in a somewhat too self-satisfied Boston.

I finally got around to reading this book and honestly, after all the hype, I expected more. I'm not a fan of Collins' writing style, and in fact I found myself envisioning Katiss' narration to be a rather peppy California girl. It was entertaining and a page turner, but this wasn't groundbreaking stuff. It was basically Battle Royale with less character depth and no guns. Shot with horse tranquilizer. I don't understand the fuss about Katniss' stupid braid, or how she could possibly have not known anything about Peeta's feelings. But that might have just been to highlight her non-materialistic, immaculate and self-sacrificing nature. Over all I would say it was predictable, over-coincidental and shallow for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. It had some good action and it wasn't boring, but I don't see myself picking it up for the 3rd time like some of my friends have.

A good thriller with dark secrets emerging from every page.
