This is a World Book Day book, containing a single short story of about 60 pages in length. The story primarily feature Mulch Diggums but Artemis and Holly are involved. It's a pleasant enough amusing diversion but offers nothing that the Artemis Fowl novels don't. Since you won't find it except second hand or via an internet search I would suggest it is for die-hard Fowl fans only.

SO clever!!
Though it takes some perseverance to get through the slower parts of this novel, it is worth it. Once I finished, I couldn't stop thinking about it for months. I've recommended it to people I care about, only so we can be thinking about the same things.

This delightful novel kept me laughing throughout my final, and delayed, flight home in a way that only Wodehouse can. If you have read Wodehouse, you will know what I'm talking about and if you haven't, then I suggest you take two Jeeves stories and call me in the morning. Trust me, you'll feel much better. This particular novel is missing that character, but he is replaced by a full cast of tangled web-weavers practicing to deceive each other in the most delightful way imaginable. In addition to the usual bumbling antics of British aristocracy that you'd expect from Wodehouse this novel also contains professional trouble-makers and con-men. If you're a fan of dry, British humor you won't be disappointed Read more of my reviews at http://auldschoollibrarian.blogspot.com/

Nick Hornby is such a great author, this made me snort with laughter a few times. Nice, sharp, witty writing, definitely worth a read.

really liked this book. couldn't put it down. based on the true story of a mormon hitler youth - i never knew that there were mormons in germany during that time.
The series consumed me for about month when I read the entire trilogy back to back. I loved the way Pullman creates this strange world of talking armored bears, daemon stealing adults, knives that cut through time and space, etc and I believed every bit and ate up all of it. I highly recommend these books. Escapist fiction with the potential for some deep thoughts.

A well-meaning married friend gave me this, and at first I thought "hm, yet another not-so-subtle hint," thinking I'd thank her (which I did) and then not care whether I read or finished it. But this is different from the normal "advice to LDS singles" tome that one might see, since it is written by one of the true stalwarts (Kristen Oaks married in her mid-fifties to Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Twelve). The nice thing about this book is she makes every effort not to be preachy or smug, having known more than her fair share of life as a single in a church community that values families and couples. There is, however, a part of me that wonders what might be different in her writings had she remained single and not married so publicly or successfully. Still, putting aside that somewhat cynical thought, it's a lovely book that really has as much worth for any LDS reader (married or single). The book focuses most on the women of the church. Worthwhile.
