For Christopher Moore fans, funny, sarcastic, hard to believe. Highly recommended if you just want to laugh and roll your eyes. He also writes well.

I put this on pause. Too many books were open when I tried to read this. Halfway through and it's his most "Nabokovian"(?) to date.

I wasnt thrilled with this book. I was expecting much more from it and it just supplied me with periods of tremendously tedious reading. Zorba is definitely an interesting character, one of a kind in fact, but I still don't know if it's worth it to pick up and read. I certainly wouldnt re-read this book myself.

I could not finish this book, I do not know why. I just could not get into it.
Less depressing than the previous books in the Jack Taylor series. This is not saying a lot.
If it were not for the deliberately frustrating finale, I would have given this brilliant book five stars. However, I can't find it in myself to forgive the book for stopping instead of ending.

Lies is a very exciting sequal in the Gone series that makes you want more. Sam, the hero, quits his 'job' when he is overcome by the amount of responsibility he has. The FAYZ is sent into chaos of the diminishing food and water supply. Grant sets the mood so well that it makes me hungry just reading it. Astrid finds herself to be somewhat the Mayor of the tiny beach town. New characters are introduced while old, dead characters seem to come back to life. Lies plot starts slow and stays fairly sedate till near the end of the book, where it ends with a 'bang.' Although Grant is good at keeping the reader reading and setting the mood for the readers, this book didn't seem to hold up to the expectations of the previous two books.

One of the first books to pique my interest in reincarnation.

The book is a quick, light read, and I really enjoyed it. But I wasn’t a big fan of Lola. I could see why she acted as she did at 17, but throughout the book, I had to keep reminding myself that Lola was 27 because she didn’t seem to grow up much at all. She couldn’t understand why Dougie was so angry with her, and she was shameless in her pursuit of him to the point where I was embarrassed for her in several scenes. She also was very shallow, wanting to break her mother and her boyfriend up simply because the boyfriend had a bushy beard, hairy toes, and a wardrobe in need of updating–even though her mother kept going on about how happy she was. If the point of the storyline was that Lola had changed over the past 10 years, I guess I just didn’t see it. However, I loved Sally and Gabe. Gabe as a fledgling paparazzi was hilarious, and putting neat freak Gabe and messy Sally in the same flat made for some interesting scenes. Though predictable, An Offer You Can’t Refuse was fun and captivating. Full review on Diary of an Eccentric.

How do I begin to describe this book? Amazing, but it takes about one hundred pages before you want to continue reading. Yet, when you do, it captures you. I feel like I need to read it again just to soak in the talent of Ursula Hegi who, at times throughout the book writes poetically. Truly she is a gifted writer. She captures the lives of all of us who are different yet trying to be accepted and loved. Info: There were so many characters I couldn't keep them all straight.
