My sister recommended this book to me and I really liked it. I didn't even want to change the way it ended. It is a fantasy. If you like those and haven't read this one, I recommend it.

3.5 stars. Would've been 4 but the ending was very unsatisfying and the fact that I wanted to smack JT upside the head every other page. **Mini Spoiler ** At the end I felt like Yasha had not overcome his low self esteem and was still letting JT "off the hook" by not insisting they go to dinner like a real date, and JT was still not ready to be "out" by not going through with the date. I'm hoping the reason it was left a little open was that she plans on resolving the storyline in Dan and Cam's book.

Very interesting. I appreciated the history lesson and I thought the storyline was good. I think it was especially fitting as I was reading while the stuff in Wisconsin was happening here! This book takes place while the Soviet Union was being established...the 'people's government'!

I loved this book. It was entrancing and a very different view of love than what I am used to seeing. I wish I knew Czech history better. I saw the movie a few months after reading the book -- I think the book must have left a very different impression on the screenwriter than it did on me.
