I am just starting to read this. It looks very interesting. I will let you know how it goes.

A little slow in the beginning, heavy-handed with some of the details. And the suspense build-up at first seemed somewhat contrived. But stick with it... because about halfway through the first part, the author really hits his stride. I love history, and this book provided brilliant details about the Chicago World's Fair that I never knew about. His descriptions and the use of actual quotes from historical documents transport you back to that time. The narrative was really well done. As for the murder mystery angle... all I can say is "Wow" and "Ewww". The old cliché that truth is stranger than fiction certainly applies here.

This is the first Erica Spindler book that I've read and I must say I was totally mesmerized. I couldn't put this book down at all!! I'll be searching for this author's other novels. From back cover: "I'm in trouble, Liz. I've uncovered something..They're watching..." That panicked message on her answering machine is the last time Liz Ames hears from her sister Rachel, pastor of Paradise Christian Church in Key West, Florida. Compelled to uncover the truth about her sister's disappearance, she heads to Key West. Within hours of her arrival a successful banker jumps to his death. Then a teenage girl whom Rachel was counseling is found brutually murdered. The ritualistic style of the killing is hauntingly similar to that used by the notorious "New Testament" serial killer-now on death row. Could the teen's murder be related to Rachel's disappearance? Is a copycat killer at work? And why do the police refuse to help? For answers, Liz turns to Rick Wells, a former Miami cop who worked the fringes of the "New Testament" investigation. Together they peel away layers of deception to reveal a terrifying adversary-and the unspeakable evil at the heart of this island paradise."

Overrated. Good story but cliched and predictable, and I think that is why it didn't pull at my heartstrings like the reviewers on Amazon said it would.

Some pretty poetic language, but at times hard to follow (I did read an English translation: The Flame). It is based on the author's relationship with Eleonora Duse, so that in itself is fascinating.
Bargain price purchase. This story is about a young boy who has been abducted, then returned in mute state. He is afraid to tell anyone what has happened when he was gone. A suspect is apprehended, a mild-mannered professor at the local college, and Ellen North much bring the case to trial and try to unravel why another child has been taken while the suspet is in jail. I like Tami Hoag and this was an engaging book.
V.colorful, Adequately drawn and written story about super-heroes Tiger Moth and Kung Pow and their adventures against The tsetses, Weevel and the Fruit Fly Boys. The characters are insects, they go to Starbugs and speak w/lots of puns. If i had to choose between anything Marvel is publishing now and this to give to a third grader, i give them this. But there is so much being done of quality that suggesting a library use its money here is a stretch.
I was surprised how much I got wrapped into the plots of this book. I am intrigued to find out more about the early history of the Latter Day Saints and Mormon faiths.
this is a great collection of Jungs writings
