Well, it's quite thrilling these are being made into movies. I think The Grey King is the strongest in the series although Greenwitch is my favorite because it features a girl. The Grey King loops the whole series into the King Arthur myth and centers on the son of King Arthur, a moody Welsh boy named Bran with some sort of shockingly-colored hair. Slim and full of lots of fun Welsh words, this one was a quick read. I remember having some problems though figuring out which boy I should have a crush on Will or Bran. Bran was sexier but Will of course I had known longer and had a better name. And was a little more stable. But Bran was a prince!

If I was on an island and could have only 3 books with me, this would be one of them--but this version only (rather than the reprint), by sheer force of the handsome production of this book from Empty Bowl Press. Long out of print, this hand-sewn version is remarkable to hold. If you can't spring for a used (rare) copy of this book, at least pick up the reprint, as the poems of Stonehouse are an amazing gift. Red Pine, as always, offers precise and deeply moving translations. I cannot imagine my life without Stonehouse, a little known Zen poet hermit. I ask that you not imagine yours without him too.

LOVED this book - a scandelous and dramatic story of 4 or 5 (i read it a long time ago) women friends that is a page turner!

dude. not even close to the movie and obvi better. why'd they do that terrible thing? the only thing they kept the same was the rules of robot and the deviation from them--actually i think that was more Foundation than I, Robot, anyway.
I haven't read nearly as much of Bechdel's long running comic strip (think of it as a queer "Doonesbury") as I would like; I bought two volumes of the series when I was the advisor for a LGBT alliance at Walton, and they both promptly disapeared. Not that I minded terribly, as I'm sure they found their way into the hands of teens who needed them more than I did. Anyway, the characters are perfect, the emotions pitch-perfect, at times funny, sad, and always true. Bechdel has done much more than create a "gay comic strip," she's made a comic strip that should appeal to anyone who cares about good characters and good stories told in sequential art.

My second "zombie book", this didn't compare with "Feed". It was an easy ready, however, like a summer romance on the beach, but in the post-apocalyptic genre.
Perhaps I'm getting tired of books with this theme, but I found this pretty trivial. Entertaining enough, but trivial.

It was interesting to read so many caricatures of maternal figures. I felt like the author was enjoying doing a series of sketches, but Astrid bound them together into a wonderful novel. Male characters were static, but that didn't bother me much; they were just not the focus.
could not put it down. want a movie made!
Love it,love it,love. I so wish I had those kind of magical powers because then I would read me out a ton of money.
