This is a play about culture class of a stereotypical African American and her African husband moving to live in Africa with his family. It is an interested move towards the end because in a culture that blames women, the man takes all the blame from his ancestors.

Great quick read and clearly spelled out "laws" that govern not only wealth creation but living a good life in general.

the whole series is pretty cool, if you can get through them all.
Scrolling through my shelves, I realized I never posted a review for this book after I read it. Maybe it's because I've been rereading parts of this lately, but I felt this tug to write something, perhaps anything, to articulate why I still feel a connection to this story so long after reading it for the first time. Margo's odyssey down the Stark River feels simultaneously mythical and all too real. Perhaps because lately heroines seem to only exist in futuristic or dystopian landscapes, Margo's tale of survival in spite of rural Michigan's natural and human dangers feels all the more triumphant. Campbell's writing echoes the river in her story, providing strong undercurrents that pull you along without you even realizing where you're going until you're already there. All of her work (including her excellent short story collection American Salvage) depicts rural America so vividly that even I, a complete city girl, can feel a connection and empathy with those that live there, their traditions, and their way of life. This is one of those books that stays with you.

A picture book biography of German artist Josef Albers. The author and illustrator do a beautiful job of walking children through the journey of his life and how he discovered colors and what they could do to/with each other.
Good book suitable for all. Much better than the film and all in all a light/funny book.

This book made me laugh out loud - literally - on the subway almost every day for about a week. If the bible was written this way I would have read it from cover to cover (twice!). The title attempts to sneer at you, proud of it's blasphemous theme, but the story itself is written in such a way that I can't help but think a good lawyer could convince St. Peter that Moore was careful not to actually cross the line and condemn his soul to eternal hell. The real story of Lamb is one of friendship and loyalty. I was most surprised by my own reaction to the end of the story, since being catholic, I knew how it was going to end all along. I was deeply moved and will admit to having shed a tear or two (also on the subway).
