I actually read these as indvidual books, over the course of a week, while combatting a bout of pneumonia. Instantly hooked, I sought our more of his works, and have turned several people on to reading Zelazny's masterful stories.
This is the first book I picked up of Divakurni's... and I was pleasantly surprised. The story of Mahabharat from one of the most important women's perspective! Could not put this down.. and finished it in flat two days!! amazing book..

"What???" is all I can say to this story. I can't even rate it. I downloaded the free ebook cause I thought it would be a funny read since the author claimed it to be a demented children's story but it was anything but that. Honestly it was just odd.
Read this in my 20's. Still love it.

Another enjoyable read by Charlaine Harris. I'd prefer more mystery in the mystery, but a nice way to while away time on the morning commute.
This book was a very good read. it was writting in poem form. Its a bout 230-240 pages long. The poems are about what goes on with Sophie's Life. Boys. Art. Breaking up with her boyfriend she used to be in love with. Growing up Jewish. telling her best friends that shes in love with a major nerd.this book does get a little sexual so its up there in the 13-14 range.

awesome!!! i'm so grateful to ever encounter this book, i hope more people would read it especially those who are in doubt! quotes from the book from intro to conclusions: "Coming to Faith is like falling in love...." For some it is head-over-heels love at first sight, with a rush to the altar. Others find the entire idea of spiritual things wholly to their unliking, only to discover that many of their first impressions were mistaken. A begrudging acceptance moves toward appreciation and then, almost unnoticed, slips over the line into heartfelt embrace. But then romance crashes headlong into reality. We give ourselves to God, and then struggle profoundly with the relationship. We are drawn inexorably in, and then find ourselves wanting to flee in fear. We move from faith to doubt, trust to confusion, intimacy to a feeling of abandonment. We find that living with God is not easy. and quotes from the conclusion: If there is any tenderness to my heart, it has come through its being broken if anything of worth flows through my soul, it flows out of a desert. If there is any trustworthiness to my mind, it was forged on the anvil of doubt If my actions seems vigorous, they originated in blindness and frailty If there is depth to any of my relationship, it has come through wounding.
Absolutely beautiful illustrations. I immediately sought out the artist's website hoping to find the option to purchase prints of her work.

Great advice here. If you expect other people to notice your work and for it to speak for itself - well guess what? A lot of it won't get noticed. But by learning how to talk about it tactfully, you can change your career path! And this book is a great way to learn that skill. Here's an example of what you can expect from this author: I went to the author's workshop and she did this great exercise. First people were asked to describe 3 professional accomplisments. Then they were asked to talk a little bit about a friend's career path. The difference was astounding. People were bored telling their own stories, unexcited and they listed accomplishments. But when it came time to talk about their friends, they were animated, their body language changed, and instead of a list they discussed their friend's accomplishments as an engaging story. And it begged the question - which would the listener enjoy? And that being the case, why not tell your own story like you would your friends?

So, I was a little late to the party in reading the book that gave birth to real American literature, though I'd read a lot of Twain's other works. Not much I can say that you don't already know, other than if you want to know about America, it's all here. And Hemingway was right, the last few pages are kind of a cheat. A forgivable one, though.
