A very well crafted book. Its the story of two couples that decide to swing and swap. It's a good illustration of why not to get involved in other people's marriages. It starts out as fun and games but someone always ends up hurt.

this was a very good book. I am very interested in the rest of the series.

Though I was initially skeptical about this book because of its somewhat sordid plot, the minute I began I couldn't put it down. The philosophical undertones, shocking humor, and profound moments that filled this book made it a worthwhile read that I would recommend.

I woudl not describe myself as a creative type, but I remember hsi book really getting my imagination going...and I think it was just from the title! But I liked teh silly poems, too. Even as a 6 year old, I was pretty serious, so this was a "guilty pleasure".

In his wonderful, philosophical examination of the innumerable nuances of one of the great ideas in science, Dennett answers two profound questions that pertain to life: how could evolution have really produced us in all our intelligence and creativity, and what does such a possibility do to our understanding of meaning, beauty, and consciousness? Dennett makes a convincing case for the power of incremental change guided by the rigors of existence to create qualitative leaps in design complexity and by so doing, illuminates the deep power of algorithms. Remarkably, he shows that meaning and intelligence can flow from utter simplicity and does not rob the creation of the universe of its beauty despite its unreliance on the guiding hand of the divine.
It is a life changer - a simple guidebook teaching basic tenets in leaving behind the old and creating a new undertanding/dream.
Okay, the first page of this book almost made me want to stop reading, because of the line, "I can't drag my eyes off him... It's this unearthly element that's got me hooked." Reading that, I was thinking, "Really? ANOTHER YA dark romance?" But I read on, and am now extraordinarily glad I did. This book is wonderful. I couldn't put it down! There is, yes, a romance, but it's very sweet and has the BEST ending. The plot is a good, quirky twist on the usual tale of a cursed family. The book has some classic elements of fantasy- the seventh son, an evil sorcerer- but also some unique qualities. There's a little social drama in the non-magically aware world, and the history of these two characters, which I think is intended to be read into. This review might be a little scattered, and I apologize. It's just one of those hard-to-describe books that leaves you with a satisfied feeling in the pit of your stomach. :)

A couple of years ago I read all the big Atwoods and absolutely loved them. So when a couple of days ago this book caught my eye - I wanted a relatively quick but good read, I thought 'perfect'. Turns out 'Bodily Harm' is one of Atwood's lesser known for a reason; I found the writing style interesting, but it was also a little too 'writing exercise' for me... the characters all bored me. I barely finished it, skimming the last 100 or so pages. Yawn.
