I liked this one even more than Something Borrowed. I found myself liking Darcy even though I really wanted to continue hating her. It was a little bittersweet reaching the end of the book. I wanted more!

Truly a life changer at a time in my life when the clash between living my life and living my duty was about to drive me insane. I recommend this book for anyone who lives a duty-filled life but knows God has to be far more understanding and loving than just to plop us here on Earth to follow a bunch of rules.

The Psalms have been described as the "prayerbook of the Church", which indeed they are, for praying the psalms is a fundamental element of Catholic liturgical prayer, both at Mass and at the Liturgy of the Hours. The Psalms are equally valuable for personal prayer, for they contain the whole gamut of human attitudes and sentiments with which people can and should address the Almighty: praise, adoration, petition, contrition, thanksgiving, and emotional expressions ranging from intense joy to heartfelt anger and grief. This particular edition of the Psalms is a new translation prepared by the Catholic Book Publishing Company for private devotion. While not meant for liturgical use, the translation is very accurate and quite edifying. However, in my opinion, the best aspect of this small book is the footnotes. The scholars who prepared these notes did an excellent job of explaining what the psalms meant both in their original context in the life of ancient Israel and also what they mean for Christians praying these psalms today. Taking the traditional Catholic view that "the New Testament lies hidden in the Old, and the Old is made manifest in the New" (Augustine), the preparers of this volume attempt to show how many of the psalms attain their fullest meaning in relation to the life of Christ and his Church. This is a great resource for anyone who wants to know more about the Psalms...a description which should apply to ANY Catholic who is serious about his or her prayer life!

Loved this book, especially their no nonsense approach to things like budgeting, something we're trying to work on right now. This is the perfect book for someone who is already thrifty but wants to take it a bit further to accomplish their goals. It's not quite "The Tightwad Gazette" but then again nothing is. ;-)
Good lord. I must say, this novel certainly changed things. Zoey continues to make me laugh, and now Aphrodite has certainly extended her powers as a vampyre-human hybrid. Although I cannot say much, certain events in Tempted have blown me away to tears, as well as shocked me. A warning to all, those who support Heath and only Heath will be brought to tears and heartbreak. And for those whom have somewhat confused feelings over Kalona and Zoey's unusual relationship, think again. In Tempted, she faces the path of 2 vampyres and 2 humans. The truth is; how far can one girl's heart stretch? And at what cost to others? ACoventry
A 13th Century French book (I read the translated version) that does some really interesting stuff with gender. A nice reminder that the Middle Ages weren't "primitive."

I don't know if I'll ever really read this book, but I've listened to the first CD. Does that count? Noam Chomsky's a genius, and I'm not.
