Not a novel, but an essay on the history of the relationship between intoxication and art, chiefly writing... Good stuff

I think this was a sequel but my library didnt have 'The Princess and the Goblin' so i got it anyway and it was amazing. So full of great lessons and morals. Hard work, kindness, pure intentions, and most of all being a TRUE ladie or gentleman. Its a little bit graphic in its violence I thought but old farie tales are. This was my first George MacDonald book and it made me seek for any one I could find. I couldnt get enough. I LOVE George MacDonld!

This book kind of upset and distrubed me, but at the same time made me feel comforted. Its about a very normal person, who suffers a break down ending up in a mental hospital. I could imagine myself in her situation thinking the same thoughts. Which is the scary part becuaes she was crazy!

"La luna, como una gardenia en la solapa de la noche...". Este libro es amor, ¡léanlo!
Everyone has a Tracy Flick inside of them. Unfortunately, mine takes up about 89%.
This novel was difficult to get through because I could not empathize at all with the main character. I thought she was incredibly selfish throughout the entire book. She redeemed herself a little at the end. I see where the author was going for characterization and theme, but I felt like she wasn't completely successful with it.

This book surprised me. I didn't know what to expect going into the fifth book of The Mortal Instruments series. I've been anxiously awaiting its release for a year! I was hearing so many mixed reviews about it, I didn't know what to expect. But the anxiety is over, and you know what, I loved it! :) This book basically started off kind of where City of Fallen Angels left off! Which is awesome, no in between gaps. I didn't know how I felt in the beginning, but as the book progress things got interesting. To me this book seems darker than the other books in this series. There was something that I can't quite put my finger on that made it so different. The characters were all the same and I enjoyed each and every one of them. And I really like the switching of the character's POV. You got a deeper look into the mind of each one. Clary is Clary. I really like Isabelle and Magnus! :) Magnus is so hilarious :) Simon is Simon and Jace, oh Jace. Jace is still my love. I wanted to see the old Jace, but this Jace was so different and so not like himself. But those glimpses *tear*. Sebastian is an absolute nutcase! He's psycho! This book was action packed! That aspect of this series never changes. There's were so many twists and turns that kept the anticipation going crazy. So many things happened. Each character had some task to accomplish and that made the book even more better. They had the same goals, but end the end, they each had to accomplish something for themselves. That ending has me once again anxiously awaiting the final book that concludes this amazing series! I loved this book. It's not my top fave, but it's still amazing :) Oh, and what is going to happen between Magnus and Alec?! :O
James Patterson is great at expanding one sentence into a book. Although nothings happening, this book makes me want to keep reading.

This book took me a while.....I read several other books in between..but I kept going back. I really cared for the main characters.....however mad I got at them at times......... I would love to hear what some of the book club members think of it...........but the books length might incite a riot......The book is set on two stages.....the world......and a large house on a side street in London....in the sixties. The author's note at the beginning states that the book is not autobiographical........but in reading her Nobel Prize speech.......it could have been a chapter in this book........ I was attracted to the author when she won the Nobel Prize......Her picture reminded me of my grandmother.....and being one of only 11 women authors to win in the field of literature.....I knew I had to seek her out again........I had read some of her sci fi works years ago, but they didn't stick with me....This book will.....
