reading this book immersed me in cool fresh water whenever I picked it up. which was not easy considering how frenetic and chaotic my life was at the time. this book is that good. filled with amazing ideas, beautiful words and the concept of the author giving birth to the idea/image that gave birth to the scene which unfolds into the novel. i fell in love a little when i read it. *one of my favourite movies of all time as well.

This started out interesting but quickly became rather tedious. I was disappointed that the mystery turned out to be so ordinary, I was expecting something far more unusual.

If Game of Thrones ended on a tragic note, A clash of Kings continues the sadness, but with a more gripping storyline and plot development than the first book. The trials and tribulations of all the characters in the book keep you hooked till the very end. On to the next book.

About Hell, but I like the rhymes in the first verse, especially, "Where the good and the bad and the worst and the best / Have gone to their eternal rest."

Yale poetry by a Yalie from Yale (sigh). Verbally interesting, thematically tiresome, stylistically pretentious. Don't bother.

Poetry is tough. I wouldn't be so bold as to recommend this to anyone without knowing them intimately first. However, if you're looking for a modern day naturalist and appreciate strong animalistic metaphors, Mary Oliver is your woman. I first heard about her from my Aunt, who lives on Cape Cod, Mary's residence. She sent me The Journey when I was just begining to find my adult legs. I have since passed it to one person when they needed it most (or maybe when I needed them to read it the most). Even if you aren't in the mood for her whole book, read this poem. It will make an impact, I promise.

Best Christain Books Ever!

quite funny, but common sense look at small town crimes and some frequently asked questions related to the law.
2011 original reading: The most mind-numbingly horrifying thing I've ever read. 2014 re-read: Still the most mind-numbingly horrifying thing I've ever read. If anything slightly more so as having read some more of his oeuvre in the interim; I think Watts is trying to be upbeat. If you have any interest in Sci-Fi whatsoever, this is the best the genre has to offer.

This book was a little trashy (never forget my snobbishness), but it had some interesting parts. The line I loved the most described a client of the courtesan. The dwarf narrator (see, told you) says that he never knew if the old man was "coming soon or going forever." Ha.
