This book reminded me of my Dad and the crazy things he did to complete his Phoenix project. Kind of nice to read about a dreamer that actually realizes his vision.

I really loved this book. It's not for the faint of heart or those that can't tolerate a lot of really explicit sexual content, but it is hilarious and touching and just all around awesome. I would definitely give it a 4.5 if I was able to. I listened to the audio on this one and it's read by the author whose voice is just perfect for the main character. Seriously hilarious book.

Well the book was great true to form. However I was extremely disapointed in the last chapter. It was such a breeze over and didn't so justice to the series.

So far, an amazing book. Interesting theory. Even though I don't normally like science fiction, this is changing my view on the genre.
This was a follow up to Love Walked In. I enjoyed it just as much

Good for vacation, I guess. Poor man's Foucault's Pendulum.

This boook talks about the life of Harriet Tubman and her adventures in the rescue of over 300 slaves. It begins with her life born into slavery and ends her life with what happened to her at the end of the wars. The book also adds an extendion of what other books relating to Harriet Tubman and other information that can be found on her. I think this book is five stars because not only does it have information on her, it still keeps the reader/child interested in it. Although it's a biography every other page has a cartoonish illustration so the child keeps his/her attention. I thought it was a very interesting book and is a great child's book.

The story was decent, but his characters were so nauseatingly cliched that it was an effort to keep reading. Also, there is a lot of info dumping, and much of the early chapters are telling rather than showing. In short, Cussler is just phoning it in. If you like stories with "Harlequin romance"-type cardboard characters (i.e. perfect brawny men and timid, fainting women), then you'll love this. However, if you prefer stories with complex, interesting characters, where scenes develop the plot or characters and aren't loaded down with info dumps, then this piece of tripe isn't for you.
Although it gets to a slow start, this book is a lot more than it appears, really exposes some injustices of American life and also provides some of the most realistic characters I've ever read in a novel.
