** spoiler alert ** Outstanding and heartbreaking at the same time I didn't want to put it down and yet I was terrified to finish it. I do not fear death I fear living dead. Ms. Genoa really does a great job putting you into the shoes of someone that is living with this disease. It sneaks up and takes your life over. One of the scariest parts in the book was when she explained that she cannot bargain for which moments are taken, leaving good memories and getting rid of things not needed. It was also scary to see how John's inability to deal with the whole situation left Alice even more alone in a time that she needed him the most.

Sarah knows exactly how to write a story that pulls you in and takes you for a roller coaster ride!!! Loved so many of the characters:) Some made me laugh, others made me swoon, and then ones that made me very, very mad. FYI... Lila made me mad (at least 90% of the time).

Once again I'm hit with a teen-targeted that is very well-written, with terrific character development, storyline, and believable relational conflict -- but totally inappropriate for the targeted demographic. In other words, I don't want my kids to come within a 100 yards of this book. It is filled with graphic sexuality (including a strange guy with a child's underwear obsession), drugs/alcohol abuse, and over-the-top language, that all could have been toned down without losing the complexity of the story. Parents -- this is the type of stuff that gets awards for teen literature...this is why you HAVE to be reading what your teens are reading.
