Definitely my favorite fantasy novel. Tolkein created a universe that launched an entire genre of fantasy books, games, and movies. His prose is timeless. Bilbo Baggins is impossible not to love.

Good ol' Chuck up to his wacky story-telling!! And this is certainly wacky. I listened to the audio book, a good story for that media since it is a narration... Anyway, without giving anything away, I recommend this book to anyone who as enjoyed anything else by Chuck.

It's not too different than what you might expect from the cover, but better in all the ways it is different. Mostly you forget this novel was written by Brian Evenson, but when you remember, it's because you've stumbled upon a sentence or paragraph that could only come from a master. Most of the sentences and paragraphs, however, make me wonder about the boundary between a master's economy and a hack's simple lack of depth. But aside from its entertainment value, the best part of this book is the way it addresses those preconceptions that even the broad-minded still often have of genre fiction.
I really love the story, but the way it is written was sometimes hard to follow. Still recommend it.

I though this book did a good job of introducing solar cooking, and giving plenty of references for more information. I would like to try some of the recipes sometime.

I was so bored that I could not even finish the book. Enough said.
Its actually a novel, cleverly designed to share the history of what happened to the channel islands during the german occupation of world war II. I liked the approach it took in telling the story by personalizing, telling it through individual stories. Good read.

What I loved about this book: girl power, and plenty of glamour! What I hated about this book: smutty romance, completely unrealistic plot, and the ultimate message that you're not successful unless you have a man. I might've rated this one higher if I'd read it on the beach instead of on my lunch breaks. But it was just alright...interesting enough that I finished, but not so interesting I'll remember it six months down the road.
This was and still is my favorite book by Remarque. It left really a lot of emotions after reading. And a lot of thinking.
