ni buku gw tau dari temen gw..katanya buku ni juga dimuat di Harian Kompas sebagai cerita bersambung..*agak telat ya gw..hihihi* liat covernya sih agak tertarik..n pas lagi diskon pula di gramed..jadi tanpa ragu2 gw beli..pengennya seh ntar2 aj bacanya..tapi karena ni buku jadi book of d month GRI..yah diduluin deh baca buku ni..*maap nih duluan* dari awalnya aj ketauan banged ni buku kayakna biasa2 aj..pas dibaca kesono2nya makin biasa2 aj..n jalan ceritanya gampang ditebak..ga da surprise sama sekali...ceritanya too sinetron..tau sinetron oh mama oh papa..nah sama persis dah..* bahasanya agak kaku tapi pengen luwes..hayah..maksud gw kadang2 pake bahsa indonesia sesuai EYD tapi pake kata2 pergaulan sehari2...maunya yang mana bu??? lagian kayakna jarang banged deh sahabatan ngomongnya pake saya or aku or kamu... sebenernya agak dilematis ya klo gw merasa bahwa ni cerita nya biasa2 aj..yah ibarat pembunuhan or perampokan or apapun itu yg semakin banyak diungkap, semakin besar kemungkinan bahwa hal tersebut menjadi sesuatu hal yang biasa aj..malah makin acuh tak acuh..padahal sepertinya tujuan nya supaya orang2 aware dengan permasalahan itu..yah mudah2an tujuan yg gw sebutkan terakhir yang bener2 terjadi...

It is 2058, New York City. Lieutenant Eve Dallas uncovers a world where technology can create beauty and youth, but passion and greed can destroy them. She was one of the most sought-after women in the world. A top model who would stop at nothing to get what she wanted -even another woman's man. And now she's dead, the victim of a brutal murder. Police lieutenant Eve Dallas puts her life on the line to take the case when suspicion falls on her best friend, the other woman in the fatal love triangle. Beneath the facade of glamor, Eve finds that the world of high fashion thrives on an all-consuming obsession with youth and fame-one that leads her from the lights of the runway to the dark underworld of New York City, where drugs can fulfill any desire, for a price. Happily continuing with the third instalment of the in death series, Immortal in Death was truly wonderful and kept me guessing right until the end! I really had no idea who the murder was and that made it all that more enjoyable for me! I really enjoying seeing the same small group of people become a bigger part of Dallas life and see Dallas grow and become a happier person because of these changes, along with the ever persuasive Roarke always steady at her side. I loved seeing Dallas and Peabody become co-workers and friends and see how Dallas was an inspiration and even a helper to Peabody. I can’t wait to read more about these two and see how their friendship and working relationship with change and hopefully grow. Oh Roarke! He’s so dreamy! He’s always got Dallas back no matter what and hates being left out of her work life even when it goes against Dallas’ nature to include him; he always gets his way and oh Roarke! He’s so dreamy! (This may become a theme throughout me reading this series but I hope you can forgive me!) I loved seeing how Dallas coped with getting ready for her wedding to Roarke and the fact that she was trying so hard to do the right thing with her case and trying to work her personal life with it and around it. I adored how Dallas and Mavis coped with the situation of ‘was Mavis the murderer’ for most of the book and yet they still trusted each other and needed each other. I also enjoyed how you get more on Dallas background and what she suffered as a child. Favourite Quote: She allowed the fatigue to seep back, linked her arms around his neck. ‘You going to tuck me in again?’ ‘All right.’ He hitched up her hips so that her legs wrapped around him. ‘But this time you stay where I tuck you.’ ‘You know, Roarke, my heart just flutters when you get masterful.’ ‘Wait till I get you back in the bed. It’s going to flutter plenty’. As a side note, I’m really liking the covers for this series so far, especially the cover for Immortal in Death. At first when I bought the book I thought ‘ooooo pretty flower’ but now after reading it I totally get and think it’s great. Overall, I loved Immortal in Death and loving this series and can’t get enough of it.
My husband and I were reading this book concurrently, occassionally aloud to one another. We would literally start laughing so hard that we would cry, and have to stop. Better than that though, Bryson really does his research. A lot of informative facts about Australia are to be found here, and while he might make you fear the abundance of poisonous insects, he makes you want to see the beauty of the landscape.

OMG! This book was amazing! I loved, loved, loved is soooo much! Everything about it was great! The story and plot was stunning, and the lovestory was soo cute! But sometimes in the book I thought that there were too much, you know blood... But I was blown away, and I am really stoked to read the next book! :)

When considering the plight of immigrants legal and illegal, this book did offer some very good insight. The story takes place in England but the same story could happen anywhere people have traveled to have a better life. The book was a gift from my daughter-in-law and I thank her for her recommendation.

While all the humorous lists collected in the book are available for free on the McSweeney's website, having them all in one place is a never-ending joy.

A fun short plane ride read. Well-written, I thought. Much better than the Da Vinci Code. Please.
