If you read any of McCourt's earlier works, you will have to ignore the fact that the beginning portions of "Teacher Man" seem a little redundant. But even in the repetition and beyond, this is a great book, especially for anyone in some field of education. How he finds his own way as a teacher, developing a style, philosophy, and rapore with his students as he goes along is a relly inspiring journey to witness. Not to mention that McCourt is a fabulous and entertaining writer.
Not a bad book. I had hoped to read Harry's first meeting with Michael Carpenter... instead Butcher opens with the two of them already old friends and colleagues. It was a little disappointing, as Harry's past is already a question mark (which makes his character interesting), and we already have Murphy being discovered in this way. This is a flat-out fight between the vamps and Harry. The ending could have had a more emotional impact for me. The fun part is this is where we first meet Thomas, a vampire of the "White" court.
I think it's great, in particular the illustrations.

A tight look at warfare against civilian populations starting with the Romans and coming to the September 11 attacks in the US. Carr makes a great many valid points about the futility of waging war on innocent bystanders. It's highly readable for laypersons and a page turner, though gramatically someone should teach him what a split infinitive is and how to edit his sentences.

This was a required reading book in my introductory psych class, but I loved it. It made me cry and question what really makes us human, as well as really appreciate modern psychology. Amazing.

Thought provoking and wrenching to know what those soldiers went through. Absurd and tragic. It helps me understand TS Eliot and DaDaism. No wonder people went abstract and dark. All sense was erased by that war fir those who went through it.
Livro fácil de se ler, com fácil vocabulário, de leve compreensão, e com história divertida.
