I enjoyed this book a lot. The hero was very cynical and jaded but the character development once Evie stepped in was great. The sexual tension between the two was hot, mostly Saint being anything but one...whispering things in her ear or having a little alone time in the theater; I just loved it. Robert Carroway, a very interesting secondary character from book 1, will have his story next and I can't wait to read it.

Reading Gatsby as an adult--one who understands New York City's geography and certain things about the world in general--was delicious. ___________ OK, so I'm going to sound totally stupid here. But, is Nick gay? Bisexual? Cuz, I'm sitting here, rereading this book I haven't read since I was 17, and there's a scene where some events are elided and then Nick is standing over McKee's bed and McKee is in his underwear. Thoughts? Any which way, after finishing the book, I've decided that Nick most certainly had at least one if not two homosexual encounters during his time in the East as well as getting busy with Jordan. I think calling him bisexual had a touch of anacrhonism to it, so I'll just say that he was living large, a hedonist in an age of hedonists.

The first half of the book was very hard to get through a bit boring to me, it did start to get alot better and then it ended. It was nice to have a BDSM book that had ALOT of info about the lifestyle in for the ones who arent totally familar with it I mean there was a few things I read that I didnt know about! I liked all the characters as well which helped, all in all it was an ok read!

I gave this book a try on a friends strong recommendation a long time ago, but never made it more than a few pages. My book club then chose it shortly after the film came out, I was excited at the chance to read it. The beginning was a bit slow, but I enjoyed the survival part of the story. I loved the twist ending, which was the primary topic of my book club meeting. We also spent a lot of time talking about the spiritual elements.

I read this years ago and I remember thinking it was well done and that I could tell the author was talented but that it wasn't my favorite type of book.

This is the sequel to A Million Little Pieces. I actually liked this book more than it's predecessor. Well written, and worth the read despite that most of it isn't true like once proclaimed.
