I love this book. It is beautiful, and original and I really connected with the character through Anderson's unique writing style. It is about Lia's struggle with her eating disorder and her guilt after her best friend dies, but it is so much more than that. It is about pressure; - from peers, society and family - it's about identity and what you do when you know the thing that you most associate with yourself is killing you and hurting those you love. It's about the duel swords of pain and love and made me cry at the most unexpected times, even when I reread it for the third time. Some of my favourite parts involved Lisa interacting with her little almost-sister Emma, and with her mom because it perfectly describes how complicated family can be but at the same time how it's a basic instinct to want to love and protect them. I have never experienced an eating disorder but I have experienced pressure, confusion, pain, and loss, and I related to this book on an intensely emotional level. Even besides that, the language is amazing and it inspired me to experiment with my own writing style. I keep this book on my shelf but take it down constantly to reread my favourite passages over and over again.

This edition had great commentary about sources and critical interpretations in the back of the book. The only downside is that if you aren't fluent in Middle English (which I'm not), the way the translated words are set up is kind of tedious. The book itself is very intensive and incredibly complex, but still rewarding if you can get through the whole thing.

This is the 25th book of the Hamish Macbeth series and I have to say that it wasn't bad. Hamish still manages to make me want to wander the Scottish Highlands with him as he figures out who has littered his beloved land with corpses. Hamish is an odd duck, though. He's got both women and men interested in him, but he never seems to be able to just have a relationship. He's plain fickle when it comes to women and much more interested in solving crimes than worrying about romance. He certainly seems to like his cat and dog a lot better than the women in his life and treats them better, too. Still, I found it a fun read and a good addition to the series.
Everyone who works with children in the schools should read this book.

A final conclusion to the epic earthsea. I found that this book was very well thought out. All the pieces fit together at the end. Every piece worked together. It didn't seem forced like some of the other book endings.
special thanks for the one who helps me a lot with my love.

Oh my gosh! This book made me smile so much, it made me so happy! Every time I put the book down, I was smiling, that's how good of a book this is. I mean this book makes me want to read more books. Anna and the French Kiss takes you to Paris, the descriptions the French words and names, oh gosh, it was heaven. I bought this book not knowing much about it or the author, I just have an obsession with France and Paris, so I bought it. And trust me, it was worth it. I wasn't sure about the whole contemporary aspect, but that really added to the book!
