I read this book then found myself compelled to check my credit report.

Another in this great series of books. I really enjoy these and it was as usual greatly interesting to read of Anna and James' relationship status and catch up as to what's going on with them. This tale is of a young movie starlet murdered in her bed. She turns out to be a real tart on the quiet and is also a drug user so there's no shortage of people in her life that would have wanted to see the back of her. Once again it's a real page-turner and I have the next in the series on my bookshelf ready to delve into soon as well !!

This one was every bit as good as the first book. It's fast moving and never a dull page. It started exactly where the first one left off and it'b obvious by the ending, the next one will be that way, too. I really enjoy these Lorien books!

Another book that has been on my shelf so long, the sticker on it reads "Now a major motion picture!" Yeah, the movie came out in 1990 and it was a huge factor in this read. The movie is a scene for scene, damn near line for line transposition of this book. So, it felt like I was reading the screenplay or one of those old novelizations I used to read as a kid. The book has a subplot involving a character that the movie wisely drops plus it doesn't show you Moira (Myra in the movie) and Cole's background. So, if you've seen the movie, reading this book is arguably a waste of time. If you haven't seen it, these are vividly drawn characters that are worth a look. The book was written in 1963 but only in a few specific places does it feel dated. I am curious to read more of Thompson's books to see if I'll have a more pure response to any of them. I'm glad I checked this book out even though there wasn't much in the way of surprises. But by that standard, a lot of books just aren't worth the trouble.

A collection of short stories which I am not a big fan of. The stories were good, I just prefer full length books.

I still don't love Jennifer Cruise's writing, but Crazy For You was an entertaining enough read.

I just didn't like it. I hadn't heard of it prior to reading... and it didn't do anything for me. I'm not a beat. *shrug*

Skippyjon Jones is a fun read because it brings readers into the world of an imaginative cat who is full of adventure. Full of rhyme and spanish words this book definitely has its appeal. Teachers should beware of possible stereotypes in the book and should have an explanation conversation with children about making generalizations.

It seemed a lot more like a poem than a novel. A well-written poem, but not a lot goes on aside from what the title implies. I guess I expected more. I did love Agee's take on religion and childhood, though. It was refreshing to hear, and extremely accurate.
