I put this down as read, but it is only half read and on hold. I read up until the start of the biology portion, and needed to return to the library. The first half of the book, with its focus on geology, cosmology, physics, and geophysics. The stories of the scientists, both trained and those whose passion for learning about the world compelled them to seek answers.

All about the old TKC campus.
I know, it's a classic, and I am very unsofisticated to not like it more than I do.
The Crowd is essential for crowd theory, but as McClelland notes, Le Bon sometimes plays it fast and loose with his theory (as well as his sources, in order to make him seem like the foundation of a new theory -- kind of a habit of his as he even claimed that Einstein had gotten the theory of relativity from him). The main point is that (a) crowds regress (and people's foundational ideas are racial/conservative), (b) crowds always need to be led, and (c) the most powerful leaders are as fascinated with their ideal as the crowd itself is (except for those leaders, like Napoleon, that weren't taken in by the ideal, but knew how to take in the crowd). A jeremiad about the terrible transition times facing fin-de-siecle Europe, Le Bon's The Crowd can also be read as a handbook and exhortation for its leaders -- preserve us from the crowd by taking it over using my psychological theories of the crowd!

This book was amazing!!! I really loved this book altogether, however if I had to find a weakness, I would have to confess that I got bogged down in the middle of the story. I may have cursed myself though as I did something that I never usually do and read some of the reviews. Shame on me. I'm not a fan of the twilight novellas in the slightest, so I was a little wary when I bought this book. I am however a big Ted Dekker fan so I got it anyhow(how you could not see this was a vampire-ish novel from the write-up on the dust cover and in catalogs and the pic on the dust cover I'll never know). The thing that I have liked the most about Ted's books from the "Circle" Series, the "Paradise" series, the "Lost" books and even "Skin" is how he connects these stories to each other. While I would not say that the Gospel message is laced in all of his books, this one is by shares that message like no other book he has written in the fantasy or thriller line of books he has written(other than the circle series). Is it a perfect analogy? No, but there is never a perfect analogy of the Good News. C.S.Lewis came pretty close, but they would both tell you that you need to go to the source to get it right. Again, how anybody could not see this, I can't fathom. I can only say that it may be because of unbelieving, blind and "diseased" eyes. Toma and Thomas would say "Drink Deep".

As with most novellas, if I am liking the story, I wish them to be a little longer--but that was expected, so, no points lost there. I also knew I had the next book locked and loaded and ready for my greedy eyes when I finished. Kimber is a wolf shifter and a healer. She was taken out of her pack at a young age by her father. I found this very odd--i would think her father would be proud and want to raise a tough "bitch"... After her father dies, she is drawn to a small town filled with wolves and other secret supernatural beings. Soon, she finds herself sucked into a world filled with danger, sex, love and beautiful men...her men, men she is destined to be with. The chemistry they share is off the charts. Though I have to say some of the story was predictable, I certainly didn't see the twist at the end! I enjoyed the dynamics of the threesome and the fact that they all get to love on each other. I am going to immediately going to start the next in the series. ✳✳ Reviewed on I ♥ Bookie Nookie Reviews ___________________________________________________ If you like this type of book, you might enjoy one of these groups. As much my eating habits defy this statement, I'm sort of nuts about nutrition. I love reading about food, and this book seems to do a pretty decent job of explaining all the stuff that ends up in grocery stores and Nestle give good, non-patronizing advice about what sorts of foods to avoid. She explains all the complicated political and bio-chem stuff in a way that my soft, liberal arts-preferring brain can comprehend. So now when I eat an entire bag of barbecue potato chips because I'm hungover, and that's what I like to eat when I'm hungover, I can do so with the added guilt of knowing exactly how empty all of those calories are.
I feel like I stepped back into Scotland circa 1400's. Review to follow...
