This book was actually pretty good. Not that I thought it wasn't going to be. But I mean it was interesting to read how one event can effect more than those who were directly involved. Cheryl is killed... outsiders may think the only people truly effected by her death is her family. Sure it will effect her friends, but they'll move on. Same with her boyfriend. But people don't know how much Jason and Cheryl were in love. They were married... and though they were still in school... they were starting a family. Jason is devestated by Cheryl's death and the town using him as a scapegoat (when you read the book you'll find out why)... he is strongly effected by this whole event. He felt Cheryl is the love of his life, she was his life, the way he saw it. And though people may think, "You're young, you'll move on," Jason doesn't move on. His family is effected by this whole event... they are split apart by Reg's harsh judgement on his son's actions. Year's later Jason meets Heather... someone who is 7 years and a thousand miles away from the incident... but she is still effected. Jason's attitude and her love for him effects her. Hey Nostradamus! really puts events into perspective in that if you change just one life... you change many in the process. The writing was wonderful and you could really feel for the characters and who they were talking to. The relationships that were formed were all real, everyone was very real. I could honestly see all this having taken place. Maybe because school shootings are real. And real people have died. Are there stories out there exactly like Cheryl's? Perhaps we should look deeper before we praise someone or point our fingers at them. Yeah... the book's going to make you think. Sorry. It's still good though!
