It's been a while since I read the first book of this series; White Cat. Firstly, I want to express my annoyance at ordering the same coverstyle as the first book, and then on receiving it turns out to be not matching in size. Grumble. This books, as the previous one, contains a good plot. And as in the previous book, the reader is kept in the dark a certain point when the main character, Cassels, figures something out. I like that in a book, because that way you can try to predict the plottwist on your own. I really like the Curse Worker's world, it's realistic, like Harry Potter. Also, the whole curse-working-by-touching-with-bare-hands is original. Also, I really should read more Curse Worker's and more Holly Black.

Good start to the series. As with all the Gabaldon, I read for the Scottish history...really! This is one of my "if they made a movie of it..." books. I began perusing imdb for the perfect actor to play Jamie soon after finishing this one. It took me till Drums of Autumn to find a few likely candidates, but I won't let slip my preferences until they've put Outlander on celluloid (ok, digital).
Some of the reasons for not going to school naked were pretty compelling!
this is a funny book about when all of his foes come after him.and he can not do it by him self. His side kick under dog comes in and gets reed of all the bad guys.

With a Damien/Samara lovechild meant to be adorable, and a drably uneventful ending meant to be epically climactic, "Breaking Dawn" is more forced than inspired with an incoherent narrative and lazily paralytic characters all doomed to revolve around one of the most uninteresting plot devices ever conceived (no pun intended). Though Meyer deserves credit for managing to write a story that is simultaneously rushed and dragging, her bloated, meandering tale ultimately grows bored with its own desperation and aimlessly trails off...
Crime fiction in the late '50's...gotta love it!

I now have an author-crush on Sarah Vowell. It's a book filled with historical trivia, particularly related to Lincoln, Garfield and McKinley. There's a decent amount of T. Roosevelt in there, even though he wasn't assassinated.
This was a fantastic re-read for me and an epic first time read for my 9 year old son and we both enjoyed it so much that we when on ahead and finished reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. ***RTC***
Everyone knows what this book is about. This book forever changed the way I saw and (mis)understood people.
