Hitchens is a bit pompous - but humorous - and supports his assertions with numerous examples. He doesn't cut anyone a skid, from the Pope to Ghandi to MLK, Jr. to Buddhists and Mohammed. He provides references to his assertions - I don't have the huge historical and theological background to refute anything he says, and he makes a lot of sense. Many believers will be terrifically offended by this book, but then they probably won't read it anyway. I was fascinated with his thought process. Good writer, but you have to pay attention.

I liked it, not quite as good as other books by her, but still entertaining.

I was steered toward the Dark Tower series by a friend who was just finishing the final book, which may or may not have been a good thing. I like The Gunslinger, I thought it was a good story with well-rounded characters and a formidable bad guy (never a problem for Stephen King). However, I didn't like it enough to justify trudging through what looked to be about 3000 pages to get to the end of the series. It never really promises enough to engage that commitment. Nonetheless, a fun read.

The first book I read that turned me on to Tudor history was the Wives of Henry VIII by Antonia Fraser, back in 1992, when it was published and it has remained one of my favorites over the years. Therefore, any work regarding this subject matter is always compared to her piece. I am familiar with David Starkey as I am a fan of his Monarch series on DVD. Starkey is a respected English historian and quite frankly, knows his stuff. As mentioned in the foreword, most of his book is on Henry's first two wives, Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn. Starkey has done significant work unearthing previous unpublished letters and documents to give an entire picture of that time, which could get tedious at times with explanations and timeline of events. There were almost 200 pages devoted to the obstructions of obtaining the first divorce. Although slow moving at times, it is obvious Starkey devoted much time to meticulous research. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was some of the vernacular used - I felt his editor could have done a better job.

** spoiler alert ** Jessie said this one wasn't as good as the original Twilight. While I was reading it I thought it was just fine (didn't really see the wolves coming, although I suppose I should have!). After watching the movie of the original Twilight I see where she was coming from. They should be able to get some of that passion in the movie, I think, though. It took some "convincing" but I'm forcing myself to like this series somehow! I really like the characters, I'm just not a fan of the writing style - I guess cause it's for teens.

Definitely getting back on track. This up, Bigby makes a return and a secret mission, Snow and her children return, and Cinderella returns from a diplomatic mission. I just don't understand what happened to Cind for the potion from Frau Totenkinder. Hope that gets answered soon.

This book is an unauthorized biography of Robert Pattinson from the Twilight saga movies. This book starts from his growing up years and how he was as a student and ends with talk of his future upcoming projects. This is a good book for fans of the Twilight saga since it does talk about some of his other projects other than Twilight and Harry Potter. It does give a little description on how Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was filmed since he also played Cedric Diggory in that movie. It also gives some interesting facts about the Twilight craze since Edward is the role that he is best known for.

This novel will go down as one of my all time faves!!!! What a powerful story about 1963 through the eyes of a ten year old boy! I had the honor of meeting the author and shaking his hand, just a year ago. Mr. Christopher Paul Curtis was an extremely sincere man and thanked me for buying his book. I'm looking forward to reading other books by him!
