Laid Bare started out a bit slow for me. We find out rather quickly that Erin and Todd have smoking hot chemistry, but that was about it. Flash forward 10 years, and introduce Ben...well that's when it picks up. Erin and Todd bring his best friend Ben into their relationship. I don't think they all expected how strong their connection would be. He ends up becoming a permanent and equal partner in thier relationship. The kink factor is high. Whew! The way the men revealed their relationship to the families and how qucikly every accepted 'hey my son is bi, and is living in a triad relationship' seemed a bit fast, but hey--its a book. :) I'm really looking forward to Coming Undone, with Erin's brother, Brody. Kink factors: d/s, piercings *ahem*, menage, m/m oral, mild flogging, bondage; however none is done to humiliate

Great story, great buildup. For history or diving buffs this book is a must. It was thoroughly researched and adequately written. I learned more about submarines and U2 boats in this book than in all my prior readings on the subject put together. The author is able to make the people --including the sailors who perished in the sub-- the real drivers of the story.

I wasn't sure at first if I would like this book or not. It was a little slow getting started, but before the first chapter was over, Gary Schmidt's unique and creative writing voice had me hooked! I got more and more into it the farther I read...I especially loved his interpretations of a 7th grade boy's opinions on Shakespeare...hilarious! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed any of Gary Schmidt's other books. He is an author for people who truly love to read!
